With a temp of 99.7 you still have a ways to go. It could be a few more days yet.

No, haven't forgotten about you, checking in as often as possible. Will answer any questions you have. Just continuer taking her temp when it get in the 98. - 98.2 or below its time. just got home had my daughter has been on puppy watch all day. Tempture when up to 101.7 I don't know what's going.

is call the spike before the drop, now next time it drops we will have babies within 24 hrs..

Yep, she's had her spike. Now its all down from here. He temp will drop and the stages of labor will start.

Here is a site that will help you. Deb Jensen's web site is very good and she explains everything in great detail. It a grat source of information.

Dont get discouraged!! She may not be "textbook"....I have several that do NOT go blow by blow, by textbooks and what all the experts say they should be doing at any given time....you have a pretty good idea of what happens, maybe just not exactly like the books say!

Yeah its just like us humans(LOL) no 2 labors are the exactly same. She seems happy eating little bits at a time. Drinking good though and just chilling beside me.

Did you get her x-rayed ?
Does she have a milk line?
Is her vulva swollen?

These are all signes of a pregnant female. Of course there is the apparent huge or sometimes not so huge bellly.

Question for the breeders - would her temperature fluctuate as it has if it were a false pregnancy? My inquiring mind wants to know...

I had scheduled her an xray at the vet last week but the vet had to reschedule and I have to wait until Wed which upset me because she will probably have them by then and i kinda wanted to know how many. Her vulva is bigger than normal but not really swollen like the pictures that I see of a swollen vulva. The milk line is the tight line down the center of her belly right? She defiantly has that. Her belly isn't huge but a little pouch or bulge.Her teats are getting bigger but no milk.

I myself have never had a false pregnancy in one of my girls but my sister has on several occations. From what she has told me it is the same as a pregnant female. I think that the only difference is that the temp will drop like a normal pregnancy.

Thats too bad that you weren't able to have her xrayed. That would of def been a big relief for you knowing if and how many. The milk line in a visual line going from the vulva up each side of the teats. If she is pregnant than she may only have one or two pups that would explain her having a small belly.

Ok soooo I contacted the emergency vet.....$600 for one abdominal exray...WOW crazy if I knew I wasn't going to have any more problems I would go do it.... But she said the same if it were a phantom pregnancy her temp will not drop so it is safe to wait until my vet opens on tuesday

:eek: Dang $600, that is crazy. The most I've ever paid is $35. Who knows you may have pups by then. Plus they may be able to tell by doing an abdominal exam. I would continure taking her temp and watch her behavior. Although it will be the same with a false preg. as with a real one. But still important to note her bahavior.

yeah thats what i am doing my normal vet was going to be 200 plus 95 for an office visit but ill keep you posted

Even 295 is extreme for an X-ray!! Where is queen creek?

My vet charges $135.00 for xrays...the emergency clinic charges $550.00-800.00, so your ER vet is right in line.....if you end up in the emergency clinic, with a normal, assisted delivery, you are looking at $1200.00-2000.00 for starters. If you are looking at c-section, you are probably looking at $1800.00-2800.00, easily.

Queen Creek is about 45 mins outside phoenix az. I have set aside a charge card just in case a c-section is needed. But I don't want to unless I NEED to do it and at this point she isn't really under distress. Her temp has stayed between 98.6 and 99.8 so shes not quite there yet but I think she is getting closer.

If you can buy a fetal doppler at any baby store tomorrow, is a very good tool to monitor your unborn babies, I love mine.. and i find out that KY jelly works great with it..

now that I can do. Thanks Carmen!! I have tried my stethoscope I think I hear movement but I may be hearing digestion or something. I have thought that I heard heartbeats but I think it may be hers.:)

Since she's already run past her due date, I would expect she should have lost her mucus plug. Have you seen any evidence of this, such as a sticky discharge or any matted hair? You should also expect to see some flattening of the vaginal area and an expansion between there and her behind as she nears delivery.

Yes her back side had been matted and she is walking bow legged.

I would keep a very close eye on her. She should be very close to delivery. Don't rely on taking her temp to give you advance notice.

With your vet not being available til Tuesday, have another one in mind that you can see if needed. Watch her very closely for any signs of labor and keep an eye out for any bloody or greenish discharge before delivery.

I am not going to leave her side... My anxiety wont let me. The emergency vet is open 24-7 just expensive but I am prepared for that to...I am just thankful that all of you ladies are here to kinda guide me along Thank you!!!

update....temp went down to 98.6 two hours ago but I just checked it again and shes at 99.2...Shes been sleeping the whole time but seems to not be able to get comfortable
