This is so terribly sad. I hope in a few months you will have her spayed. |
this is so sad...I really hope you get to keep her, she sounds like such a sweet baby. Oh and welcome to YT! |
At least mom is the hands of aomeone who cares for her, that is the silver lining here. |
I'm glad that the Momma found you to care for her and love her through her terrible ordeal! |
How terrible. I am so happy that this dog found you. You obviously already love her so much. |
I am so sorry. But have to believe she is in the right place now. At least she had you by her side. |
You are such a hero and have changed (and probably saved ) this sweet baby's life! |
I agree, so sad about baby, but at least the momma is with you now. It could have been so much worse. You are a good person for doing the right thing. |
she will be spayed as soon as possible this never should have happened. From what I read on the internet and this forum ethical breeders don't breed 5 lb pups. It almost looked like a yorkie had the coloring but the neck was almost as long as the body and there didnt seem to be a developed nose among other horrors, I'm thinking they may have breed her with a weiner dog or a relative. Her temp is still good but she is still sad, we both are. Thanks for all the support |

Spaying behind a c-section is not a recommended procedure....in the event of an emergency, it can be done, but vets dont like to do that in the same procedure...bleeding and or blood loss is a concern... |
I am so sorry you and this little lady have gone thru this horror....just comfort her....mine that have lost a baby, collect a small stuffed toy and carry it around, sleeping with it and "nurturing" it....maybe if she had a little stuffed toy she could sleep with.....she had no prenatal care probably, and it is a mystery what she was bred to....and you really do not knopw how long she has been "on the streets", so that little pup may have been deceased for a period of time and possibly started to reabsorb....is she producing milk? You may want to lay a warm wet towel across your left forearm, and position her on your left forearm, with her head in the crook of your arm, and that warm towel on her swollen teats....watch her for a mastitis, if she has a lot of milk coming down.........You are good to take her in and care for her....you didnt sign up for this, and you have still stepped up and provided care she desperately needed. |
been checking still no milk, I will find her a baby toy thanks, she really just wants me to hold her |
Aww, I'm so sorry the baby didn't make it:( Thank God this little lady ended up with such a caring person, or she may have perished as well. I know that you will love her and help her through this. I can't believe that someone could be so cruel to an innocent baby:cry: Thank you for taking her in! |

Makes total sense, my vet had to rush a spay abortion for the bleeding issue concerns. Sounds like this girl in the thread is in very caring hands now. |
went back to the vet today she is doing good no fevers and only a very small amount of milk in one teat. I tried to let her have the baby and do it her way problem was it's skin was very thin and her tounge was tearing it apart. she is doing good not too depressed she is a trooper. she has to start a bland diet for a while she is not eating except her soft milk bones she loves those things. I honestly can't believe she is alive it wasn't a hard labor for her but I couldn't have done it. She didn't even make a sound, she is very quiet which is one reason we thought she may have been abused, she did bark at a cat once though she has a tiny voice. The shelter wouldn't help I tried they said only if I surrendered her to them and I just couldn't do it. Even though legally she isn't ours and I am still actively searching for her owners they would have to give me one hell of an explanation for this and I still probably wouldn't let her go. She is home. I have never had a yorkie but my husbands grammy has a 2 year old girl that is close by we babysit sometimes. To be honest I am not much of a dog person, I bought a shih tsu a few years ago, I didn't know about breeders so I just assumed the woman was honest, turns out at first vet visit my beautiful 10 week old boy was actually about 6-7 weeks he was beautiful and we loved him so much almost all white we had him for about 6 weeks just long enough to love him more than life itself and he was growing so well til one day he started banging his head on the wall took him to the vet immediately and within 15 minutes found out he had a geneticly messed up spine that wasn't growing with him and he had hydrosephilus, water on the brain, had to put him down right there. It killed me and the kids didn't want a dog again, ever. I love her though, she didn't ask for this and she will have tons of playmates my whole family has dogs. Sorry for over sharing it's been an extremly emotional day preceded by a very emotional week with no sleep. thanks |
