https://www.akc.org/breeds/fss_breeds.cfm Some AKC events exclude biewers, if I'm interpreting this correctly. https://www.akc.org/reg/fss_companion_events.cfm Biewers are approved for "companion events" but not all events. Just interesting little tid bits of info that I love picking up here at YT. Thanks for that link! I don't expect to ever own another AKC registered dog, I don't rule it out either. I am intermittently searching for a companion for our elderly yorkie. One hope is to give him sort of a play mate and other various reasons. If indeed, biewers are not registerable at AKC, then where do they register? A national breed club... AKC provides a link to: Biewer Terrier Registry Welcome Biewer Terrier Registry offers this explanation: "The Biewer Terrier is a purebred of its own and not a Yorkshire Terrier. The BTRA is the only registry set up for the Biewer Terrier breed and feel it is important for the foundation we are developing in America to reflect the correct name for recognition as a breed of its own." So, in summary, if someone breeds or shows a biewer... I would think A. register with Biewer Terrier Registry, B. record at AKC FSS, C. Lose the yorkie "title", "The Biewer Terrier is a breed of it's own." Embrace it and be proud of it! It's a gorgeous dog! |

This page offered a few tid bits of knowledge on the subject. Parti/Biewer Difference? - Quality Traditional and Parti Yorkshire Terriers It's presentation is a little jumbled but it does offer basis for both sides... |

Registery The Biewers register with the (BBIR) Biewer Breed International Registery that has been in existence for about 8 tears. Some clubs/individuals still register in Germany with IBC. most rare breed breeders do not like CKC--canine kennel club. |

The simplest explanation is The Biewer group believes that they are from Yorkies and the Biewer Terrier group believes they are a mixed dog. And as you posted only the Biewer Terrier group is AKC FSS. The Biewers are BBIR |
It is also important to understand that the Biewer is NOT and American Breed. This is a dog that originated in Germany and is in many parts of Europe and other areas of the world. What a small group of Americans do or think has little significance to what the rest of the world does. The majority of the world believes the Biewer ala Pom Pon is a pure bred dog that comes from a yorkie. Many still breed back to the yorkie, however in this country, many breeders believe in breeding only Biewer to Biewer. Diana :animal-pa |

Diana ] Thanks... History Seems to state the least controversial summarized history of the Biewer. It's a fairly new and unique breed for sure! |
Read all 5 pages,. just wondering how your pup is dong? We live in Florida, and been watching her site, as were looking for a Biewer possibly to go along with our 8 month old male yorkie Biewers are hard to find, and pricey. I been looking now for several months at them and Parti's |

Pm sent, thanks! We been looking for several months. But wanted a reputable breeder to choose from. |
Yes. I bought a biewer yorkie from terry two years ago. She is the best yorkie I have ever had. I have had two others in years past from other breeders and they were not nearly as good dogs as this one is. I found Terry to be most helpful and wonderful to deal with. Mandy is a much better dog than we ever expected. I am in Frisco Texas. If you would like to know more call me at 214-668-3973. |

Hello I'm new to the site .I also have a puppy from Terry she is the most adorable and spoiled little girl . She's full of energy . |
Male dogs age just like human males. Their interest in mating may decrease over time really dependent on their hormone levels and if they have ever mated before. You should broach these questions to your vet and have your dog health tested and screened if you wish to use him at stud. |
Florida Breeders Verbena - I have never been on a Forum and don't know how to use it yet, so I hope you receive this message... I am looking for a Biewer Breeder located in Florida. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! |

I bought my Biewer from Terry in Florida. Little Biewer Yorkies.com She is wonderful. I have had Yorkies before but this is the best one yet. I highly recommend her. Mandy is the sweetest dog we have ever had. All is credited to Terry! |
You'll be in great hands with Verbena , she helped us find our Biewer Waldo, who we love so much, we couldn't be happier! |
I have a beautiful Biewer. I have also owned 3 Yorkie's. As far as AKC goes, Biewer's are in the AKC Foundation Stock program, therefore eventually they will be eligible for AKC registration. 100's of dogs started out in the AKC Foundation Program before becoming eligible for AKC registration. So please, do not judge us that have Biewer's. |

Greedy breeder who used the stud 10yrs, produced unhealthy pups This greedy breeder who used her dogs for 10 years to produced unhealthy puppies to build her wealth. No wonder why the puppies are not healthy, I feel sorry for dogs and puppies, it is so cruelty. She has more than 3 studs and just retired her Pretty boy after 10 years of service. She produces 2 to 4 litters a month, each litter has 4 to 5 puppies, how could she handles and provide the best care to those puppies at the same time accordingly? not to mention about their health. She took the different pup to the vet so that she can get a certificates in order to board the unhealthy pup to the plane. I have received the unhealthy puppy with skin issue and ears infection, how could these issues has passed the vet examine? She lied and misled people about the dam's weight as her ads stated that the dam weighed 4.5 lbs. but produced 5 puppies, and I purchased the smallest one in the litter, turn out its chart to be 6 lbs. full grown. We have discovered her true color after received the unhealthy puppy from her. Buyers be aware of "Littlebieweryorkie" dishonest ethical who only care about monies and sell the unhealthy puppies |
I do not know this breeder but I do know that there are a lot of unethical breeders out there breeding all breeds of dogs for one reason only. MONEY. It is not just one breed, it is all breeds. That is why they are called "Puppy Mills". People, do your research. Do not buy a puppy from someone just because the picture is cute or the price is right. If possible, meet the owners and visit their home. I know this is not always possible. If the breeder tells you they must ship the pup, stay clear There is nothing worse than getting a puppy, falling in love with it, just to loose it due to a hidden illness. |
