98.4 Degrees? How Close? I took a very pregnant yorkie about two weeks ago. She came from an elderly lady who is dying of lung cancer and couldn't deal with the process....so please, no irresponsible breeder stuff....please. I just took her temp and it was 98.4. What is your opinions as to how long she has to go? I would greatly appreciate any advice. |
is this after the spike or before? usually is 24 hours after the spike and the drop, whelping is eminent. I suppose you are all ready and prepared.. i would start making the whelping pudding as soon as she starts nesting.. best of luck, for a fast and safe whelping. hugs, |
I was not able to take her temp yesterday. I have been regularly taking her temp at 5:00 every every evening for the past four days, but I missed yesterday due to the fact that I am a school teacher and had parent/teacher conferences until 8 last evening. So, I am not sure if she spiked yesterday. Day before yesterday she was at 100.9. |
so this could be the first drop, she is close how many days after fist tie? |
Right now, she is comfortable, but having short breaths. |
you might be getting close, is she nesting? did you noticed if she lost her mucus plug? |
I have no idea when she tied. She was/is so medicated she couldn't tell me. She barely could give me directions as to how to get to her place. It is a very sad situation. |
oh wow, so nice of you to help.. |

lol That made it sound like the yorkie was medicated...lol...i am assuming the poor woman who was sick was medicated and couldn't tell you. Sounds like your girl is very close to delivering... wishing her a safe and easy whelping:) |

Checking in to see if you have pups yet |
Right now, at 8:83 central her temp is 98 degrees. She is much more sedentary, but doing alot of licking, arranging blankets, etc. |
Sounds like she is nesting. You may have along night :) |
she is nesting you are in for a long night... |
Puppy #1 at 4:41. He is clean, dry, and nursing. Momma is doing her job perfectly. Relief, for this is a first time mom. |
good, do you know how many you are expecting? |
We should have more pups by now. How is it going |
Hope that all is going well and that she had a smooth delivery. Fill us in when you have time. |
Yes, it is a done deal. It all started about 4am when i woke up to a tiny squeak. Four perfectly happy, healthy babies. She had each one about an hour apart. Didn't want any flames, so i hadn't mentioned yet, but these are Morkies....as I mentioned, I had nothing to do with this breeding. I'm just so thankful that everything went so smoothly. I'll post pics if anyone would like to see. |
Of course we want to see pictures. Glad everything went okay and all is good. How many boys how many girls? |
