Need some help!!!! temp, droped I am needing some help. I have a yorkie that is due 12-10-05 and her temp. is 99.7 (but she did EAT and big plate of food) if this is so what is the like that she is going to have her puppies?? and do you think that the puppies are going to be ok??? Can someone please help me.... Courtney |
Courtney, Most of my girls will drop their temp more than once before whelping.. They usually drop in the 97-98 degree range.. I usually start taking their temp 2 weeks before they are due so I can keep track of the ups and downs.. Usually on the second temp drop my girls whelp within 24 hours.. But that is my experience, I have whelped alot of litters.. I have one girl that does not drop her temp much at all, so I really have to keep a closer eye on her.. Is her due date from the last breeding or the first? Melanie |
I also forgot to mention that my girls usually do NOT eat well within 24 hours of whelping.. Melanie |
Right now she is back up to 100.0. the due date is not tell the last date of breeding on oct. 10. She is not due tell the 8 9 and 10 of dec. Do you think that she would have the puppies soon or later??? Quote:

Courtney - I am having the same problem. The vet told me that she could have them early and they be fine. He said that she could have alot in there and that is why. Is she doing anything else other than her temp? Abbie's temp was 101 Monday Last night it was 99 this morning it was 97. So we will see - just watch her. She will be okay. |
Do you mean that the puppies will be fine if they come of early. At least 10 early. I am wanting them to stay as long as they can. My husband is telling me that she looks at you, SO SAD with her big brown eyes. Telling you what did you do to me......... :( The only thing as of right now she is still in in her temp. at about 100.0 and no change as of yet. Quote:

When is she due?? Keep me posted on how she is. I will pray as I am going to Peyton. God is the only one who knows what is best for or little babies. Quote:

She is due the same time as yours.... Thanks |
Well I know how you are feeling right about now. The only thing is that you can look and see you baby, I can only see her in the web cam right now. She is looking so sad... :( Quote:

early Your puppies can uaually saftley be 5 days early. This would be from the first breeding. The temp usually will drop to 98.2 or so before they are born. Sometimes 99's are as low as it gets. Just watch for a spike & then drop, they will be born within 24 hrs. |
Cheers For The Mother To Be 3 Attachment(s) Hi cbrownfish, My girl had here litter early and she was fine. She was due on the 6th of Nov but they arrived the 2nd of Nov. She dropped her temp to 97.6 2 days before and i new she was going to have them early. I took her to get Xrays on day 59 and saw 3 little piggies. They are wonderful and all my worry for nothing. She whelped in 1 hour which i was shocked but so glad she is ok. I did the tails myself and helped pull the afterbirth very slowly when all were out. That seemed to take the longest. YECK I'm so excited for you. I hope all goes well. |
Any update on the momma to be? |
Makes me feel beter about that. Right now she is doing the up down thing with temp. Last night it went down to 99.0 and then back up today too 100.0. So you are telling me when the drop stays then she will have the puppies soon?? Quote:
