4 Boys and 1 Girl
 
The vet had decided that it was best to hydrate her first before c-section. Then 2 normal births happened (1 boy and 1 girl). Well the vet said to wait and see if she would birth anymore on her own. At 4pm he said the wait was over he was going in. That is when 3 screaming boys were produced.

They sent me home with mom and babies at 6:30pm. She was awake for a little bit but has been sleeping quite a bit. All of the nipples have been sucked dry and some of the babies are crying. I have bottles, but the do not seem to want to take to it. My girl is still sleeping and I assume that she has to eat or drink before more milk is prepared. Should I wake her to eat. Doctor said she could eat after 8 but she is sleeping.
So confused.

Congratulations!!! Can you call the vet and ask if you should wake Mama to feed her? She must be tired. Hope all goes well. Hugs to Mama and the puppies.

woke her and gave a little chicken broth to her.
 
She perked up a little to lick the babies.:thumbup:

So, that's a total of 5 kids...., you're going to now have your work cut out for you.....making sure that mom has plenty of food, stepping in and helping with the diapering and supplemental feeding, as well as making sure you monitor your girl for eclampsia.....

sometimes you can use a small syringe (not sure on spelling) to feed. I would call and ask my vet. But if they are not taking from a bottle. I am sure mom is very tired. Your vet will have ways of helping to get them to nurse. it may be along night but well worth it. Good luck and keep us posted

My Kalina had five puppies 10 weeks ago and she was a great mom. She was able to nurse them all on her own and take care of them. I hope you have the same experience with yours. Congrats...five puppies are a lot of fun once they start walking and playing. Mine are just adorable now! Good luck!! :)

My girl is now eating and drinking well on her own. She is cleaning the babies and feeding well. No more problems with not enough milk.

these are pictures of the dad. The little misses is in desperate need of a clean up first. She does not want to ruin her reputation of taking pictures with her hair out of place.
