dog clubs and shows when looking for a dog show or kennel club to attend do i have to pick a yorkshire terrier club? i havent seen any on the upcoming events. ive seen almost every other dog club but no yorksire clubs. im trying to take some advise given by another member to go to some shows to see if my male pup has what it takes to represent the breed. i found the dates and times just dont know which club to start off with. i saw some yorkies that one first place in a white sheppard club so im a little confused about where to start.

An All Breed Dog show has every breed showing. If you find a certian breed show that is usually a speciality. The Yorkie Speciality's from the National Club are held 2 times a year, on in New York in Feb, and one that is a roving speciality held during the spring or summer at a different location every year. Local clubs also have specialities at different times, there is one in March in Louisville KY, along with the All Breed show.

shows Go to INFODOG.com for AKC shows. If you saw a white shepherd then it wasn't an AKC show,.not showable. There are good UKC shows I am told..almost all AKC shows have Yorkies entered. Fun matches are good also..but I have seen some APRI registery champion Yorkies and they were very pet quality..so you have to be careful who you ask to evaluate your male. Why not post photo's here for a few show breeders to see? It is a start. Others have and it was obvious theirs had potential, others did not...just depends on how thick your skin is..and if you are going to get into breeding/showing Yorks, you need a thick skin! LOL
