Reputable Breeders in NJ / NY? Does anyone know any good breeders in New Jersey or New York? I see lots of lovely YT members from New Jersey, someone must know a good breeder? I found one and she is wonderful but she is charging $2500 for a pet puppy. Do you guys think this is a good price or too much for a pet quality puppy? She's a hobby breeder whose dog is "#1 grand champion in new jersey". That dog is the litter's father. I already looked at YTCA. :) Anyone? :D |
Who is your breeder? |
Are you asking who the breeder is that I am talking about? Or where I got Layla? |

New Jersey doesn't have it's own statistics......There is only standings for # 1 All Breed and #1 Breed.....sorry.....this is a bunch of BS. |
"We got are Grand Champion Title out of 10 shows . Right now we are # 1 Grand Champion In New Jersey ,and #4 Breed & All Breed list in January." She doesn't speak English perfectly, hence the grammar. |
Could this be the breeder? YORKILOVE - YORKI HOME She says on the page: "Right now we are # 1 Grand Champion In New Jersey." |
That is the breeder I'm talking about, yep. |

Grand Championship is valid and can be obtained easily in 10 shows. $2,500 for a pet quality dog on the coast from a reputable breeder is valid. |

Well, so far I've seen good breeder signs. She keeps her babies until 12 weeks of age, does not advertise teacups. She said I had to put in a deposit to hold a puppy and when they are 8 weeks old I can visit them and pick one out. She said the deposit must be in check form but that she will not cash the check until I pick out a puppy and sign a contract at 8 weeks. If I don't like any of them she will not cash in the check and I can keep my money. Then they go home at 12 weeks. She said she works on potty training them before hand and also works with them so they will not have separation anxiety. If I don't have the money by the time they are ready to go home (which I will) she said I could keep the puppy at her house, no problem, until I was ready to give her the rest of the money. She even said she would not charge me extra for food, etc. I thought this was nice of her. All her dogs live with her at home and I can meet the entire family when I go to pick a puppy out. She also recommended I look for other breeders so I was sure and did not pressure me into getting one from her. She told me that even if I decide against buying from her-which was okay- that I could call her any time I had a question. She also told me that she has an account on YT and that I should visit this website. ;) |

Not to go off-track, but is there a website where you can find the top finishing Yorkies from year to year? I googled, but it didn't find anything. |

And on another thread says that she is rehoming the dog. Quote:

If I am reading her posts correctly, it appears that she "got her first Yorkie" September 7, 2008 and then had one posted for sale September 30, 2008. So whatever that means - I am assuming she sold the puppy she just got - the longest she could have been breeding is a couple years. I mean, she just sold her first Yorkie, so she would have had to start over with a new Yorkie. Is the breeder's name Wilson Ang? If not, magansmomma is referencing the wrong (ex)member. Very curious! |

Like I said this person appears to be new to the exhibiting world. |
Honestly I think her website was just thrown together because she did not have one. I don't think anything is sketchy. I fell in love with the lady right from the first time we talked. Her name is Rita, but I don't know her last name. I don't think her website is really meant to market her dogs because she doesn't breed to sell all that often to begin with. She focuses on showing and breeds every once in a while. I think its just a simple, humble website that she will probably fix up later on or something. This is all, of course, just my own opinion. I don't know, but, I really like her so far. :) |

So, I clicked on the Onofrio link (just trying to unravel the mystery) and there are 4 Edgewood dogs that placed, but not bred by Rita Piko. They are all bred by Cynthia Hill. Rita's Benjamin that she brags about was bred by Cynithia Hill and Rita co-owns this dog with her. So, I guess the real question is . . . is Benjamin the sire of your potential puppy, OP? I am guessing that Edgewood has bred some champions, but at the same time, I find it odd the number of different owners (just from this one show). OP - did she tell you her screen name on YT? Might be enlightening to see some her previous posts. |
Yes, he would be the sire of my potential puppy and I don't know her SN on here. :[ |

Benjamin is a doll and Rita is a very nice person and caring breeder IMHO. |
