| ![]() I've asked before on YT but not in this section has anyone here had to deal with an innie vulva on one of their females? My Claire's is pushed up inside her and only a tiny bit is out. A few months ago my vet advised us to wait to have her spay to see if after a heat it will come out and stay on it own if doesn't she will have to have reconstructive surgery. She's 9 month old now and still no signs of a heat yet. I'll never breed any of my dogs. Currently I have to pull it out by gently pulling on the hair and lifting the skin behind it and wash her every morning and night because it gets yucky with brown stuff. She's doesn't act unwell at all but it REALLY bothers her when I have to wash her and It is starting to get red lately. She has a vet appoint Monday so he can check it out to see how it's doing again. |

| ![]() Maybe she's becoming sensitive to whatever you're using to wipe her with...

| ![]() This is why I love YT. I learn something new all the time. I have never experienced anything like that with any of my females. It does sound like a very unusual situation. The vets advise sounds logical. My main concern would be her getting a urinary tract infection. Here is a good article that pretty much explains what is going on. In's and Out's of Puppy Vulvas Keep in mind that most females do experience their first heat around 7 to 10 months of age occasionally some females don't go into heat until after they are a year old. The longer you wait to get the problem fix then the greater the risk that she can get an infection. I pray your little girl will be fine.

| ![]() we're going to the vets in a few minutes so he can check her out again. She hasn't acted unwell at all but she does pee frequently and only a small amount each time and that is a new system. |

| ![]() The vet said she could just have been red because of the soap and she is fine now. He also said that their isn't signs of infection. He also said because she is not having any health issues so far it is just cosmetic. He said again a heat may make a different well just have to see. He also said that their is an operation called vulva plasticity but as long as their are no health problems she going to be different. So I feel better. He did say it doesn't mean she might not have problems in the future with urinary tract infections were just going to keep an eye on her. When Claire stands up on her hind legs you don't even see genitals because it is just looks like a line 2 inches long of two piece of skin. |
