On another note, it is not recommended to feed pork chops. I know you are just trying to get her to eat but feeding her food that she is not use to or that is not good for her can make the situation worse. She is not eating because she does not feel well. It is very important to get fluids and some food in her. I always keep a electrolyte solution on hand for situations like this. You might also try some Pedigree Healthy Digestion canned food. All my dogs like this food and it is good for their digestive system. Giving Nutri-cal is also very helpful. Please keep us posted. |
There are also foods that are high in calcium. Yogurt and canned salmon and some hard cheeses are examples. Amazingly enough, cottage cheese isn't as high in calcium. Supplementing calcium doesn't always mean in pill form. |

Ruby is acting normal, eating and drinking. After 3 days of IVFs and Abx she is acting normal, eating and drinking well. They have no idea where the infection was. All labs and xrays were normal. She saw her vet and 2 specialist and they are all stumped. Pups are doing very well too. Thanks for all your well wishes and prayers. btw...porkchops, steak, chicken and cheese are all in her regular diet and given as treats. Thanks again for everything, you guys. |
Thanks for the update. I pray she continues to do well. |
