Oh brother! I certainly hope this is a joke. Why on Earth would you leave a female in heat, outside, unsupervised when you KNOW there are intact, free roaming dogs that would have access to her. Very irresponsible ownership! 10....9...8...stepping away from the keyboard now. |
VERY CONFUSED.... You posted back in February and were told not to leave your dog ALONE in your yard or CHAINED in your yard, and yet you are continuing to do it:confused: I for the life of me cannot understand. Do you not understand the risks associated? I think this is very irresponsible of you. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...stay-yard.html |
I would suggest you take her to be spayed as soon as possible they can spay while in heat and possibly pregnant Quote:

Ok for those of you who keep saying that I need to get her spayed and that it is irresponsible of me not to have her that way already, there is a reason she is not, umm I bought her with the intention of breeding her. Furthermore, the only dogs in my neighborhood are three Yorkies which belong to my neighbor. 2 are males, (1 which I planned to mate with mine anyway, just not the first go around). I do go out with her most of the time but she prefers to be alone sometimes. I have her on a swivel leash that will not choke her and she is in the shade. She doesn't stay out long. (I'm not that stupid!) And she is only about 5 feet from my front door. I keep a check on her, and the Yorkies do come over to play with her from time to time. No I didn't see him come to play with her at that moment, I do have house chores to do. I'm raising 5 kids so I think I can handle a Yorkie. Besides, she is not a stupid dog, she manages just fine. I didn't post on here for criticism I was just wondering. Not to mention, my vet told me she could mate her first go around anyway. I just would have rather waited for the second. Sorry if I offend anyone, but I don't appreciate it when people think I'm incompetent. |

Your dog cannot decide for herself if she wants to be outside alone or not...Your dog doesnt know what she's doing and cannot protect herself alone outside TIED UP and in heat. Your her owner, not the other way around. What your doing to your dog is considered animal abuse. Yes-I agree SPAY your dog and do HER a favor instead of yourself. |
And I imagine you've had all the necessary tests done since you plan to breed her? I imagine you have a mentor and have studied breeding so you know what tests are needed, the akc standard and what to expect? Yah, didn't think so since you left a dog in heat alone in the yard. |

I will chime in with the others that are warning you of the dangers of leaving an unspayed Yorkie unattended on a leash outside alone...don't do it! You've just seen one perfect example as to why you should never do this. An unplanned litter with a little one this young should not have been allowed to occur. I have to agree with another poster...I shudder to think if a 100 lb male had gotten to her!:( If you must let her outdoors and she has issues with running away, you should consider being with her while she is on a harness & leash at all times or if you want her to be able to have some time to run around invest in a X-Pen for the yard & pull up a chair while you keep an eye on her. Lastly, please get your girl spayed...that's responsible pet ownership!;) |

That's a lot to have on your plate...hope you reconsider and learn to just enjoy your Yorkie and allow her to be a pet.;) |

If cuteness is all your baby and your neighbors yorkies can offer the world, it's not enough. I agree with Miabellaamoure, you have much on your plate. Can you drop everything for a min of 3 months and spend every waking hour helping raise a litter? |
HMMMM, What is his name ? The yorkie who was stolen from his front yard while the daughter was out there. Oh yea BENJAMIN ! you don't get it , people drive around looking for opportunities to take little dogs & resell them. Your baby WILL become a victim if you continue to leave her tied out unattended if only for 2 minutes that's all it takes for her to be GONE forever. Also if your vet said it's fine to breed on the first heat he's an IDIOT and you need to find a new vet ASAP. Would you think it were ok for a 12 yr old girl to become PG, I think not, Why ? Because she's still a baby. DUH ! You should be ashamed of yourself for putting her in danger in so many ways. |

Well, leaving her tied outside while in heat just shows that you were aiming to get her preggo in the first place. Everyone has common sense (they just don't always use it), so I know you knew that if you left her out, tied up so she couldn't get away from a male that is hormone driven (even if she wanted to) that she'd wind up carrying a litter. Do your neighbors know that you're trying to get your girl preg. with one of their boys? Why do you want to breed her? |
Wow. I feel very sorry for your poor girl:cry: |
