A big Milestone for the partis
 

AKC has now started listing the parti color on their registration forms. It is no longer a write in, and you no longer have to send in photos to get them registered.

YAY!!! I am so happy for the parti babies!!

Maybe is just so AKC can process the paperwork easier and faster because they dont have to look at all the pictures anymore.;) Just sayin....

The AKC does this with many of the other breeds also that are not showable...Boxers (all white) are the same and have been for years!

Jeanie, I saw where Sue had posted about this in another thread.

Just last week I tried to register Razz with AKC online, I didn't realize then you couldn't. I even received an email from someone w/AKC asking why I didn't complete my on-line registration. After emailing back, he confirmed that parti registration had to be mailed in with the pictures.

After reading Sue's post earlier, I tried again to register on-line and in the "markings" drop down menu there is no choice listed, nor any parti designation under the "color" drop down menu. I would love to find how to register Razz on-line, if it can be done?

Either way I will register him.

Jen, if I were you, I would go ahead and follow what AKC told ya...just to be on the safe side. Plus, you get to show his pictures off to them if you mail them in. ;) :D

I will do just that Tammy....I want no mistakes with his registration...and you're right.....I would love to show off his pictures:D

Ya, I read that in her post that's why I decided to try again. It really doesn't matter though, I've taken his pictures and have it all ready to mail off - I just thought on-line would be more convenient and less waiting.

I just tried to register a parti female online and found no parti selection option either. :confused:

The parti color option was under the "Markings" heading not coat color. I had to click the markings button and the options were either no markings or Parti Colored. My AKC printed receipt says she Parti colored too :D

Sue, don't know if you read my post on this thread but I did try to register on-line last night and there was NO option for "parti color" on the markings drop down menu. Did you have to choose from the drop down menu for "coat color" first before options appeared on the markings menu? I was trying to register as a new puppy owner, is that where you started the registration process on-line?

I'm going to mail in Razz's application anyway, but just thought it was curious I couldn't find the "parti" classification.

That is great ! AKC is being more supportive of the Parti as time goes on.
This makes registration of the Parti color just like the registration of the other colors.

I have tried twice and there is no parti color option in the markings menu. Maybe it has something to do with who is registering the puppy.
Sue, was this one of your pups that you kept? Maybe that option is only available to the breeder? I am trying to register like Jen, as a new puppy owner.

I too have tried to register a parti today and no drop down for parti on either choice..hmmm

Unfortunately, we do not have a parti option for online registrations. Please mail the application and 2 pictures of the dog to us and we can process it for you.

If a reply is necessary, please include all previous correspondence.

That is pretty much the same reply (same guy) I got when I tried to register on-line last week. This was after I tried registering and couldn't.....he emailed me to ask why I didn't complete the registration and then answered my reply with the same response you got.

I don't know why the online registration isn't working for some, but here's my copied and pasted email that I received last night after I registered my girl ...

Just heard from him again after I requested more info and told him that I knew someone who infact did register a parti online. This is what he said...

"It was a coincidence. When we manually process a registration with a non-standard color, we have to turn on the master list of color options. The person who registered online yesterday did so at the same time that we were also processing a parti-yorkie registration (or the agent forgot to turn it off at the end of our processing)."

So there you have it. Sue was at the right place at the right time so to speak. :) The rest of us have to continue sending in our applications with 2 pics.

Yes, this was a puppy that I bred and kept. Maybe if you are registering a puppy that you've purchased, you still have to submit photos??

Obviously someone at AKC is wrong, there was a parti color option when I registered online. I must have triple checked that I clicked on the Parti-Color selection before I hit the submit button, and when I saw "Markings: Parti-Color" listed in black and white on my receipt (I highlighted it in red in my post), I knew it wasn't a dream. :p

But isn't Zane the one who originally notified that it was possible??

Does anyone have any new registration forms. It should show on there.

I just registered a litter, so I should have some in a few days.

I can see where it is possible that not all of the employees have the updated information.

Personally I don't believe the employee that said it is an option that they can trun on and off.

Woo hoo, AKC has finally put a code for Parti color Yorkies in the online system. The code is 038 and goes in the markings box. No more sending in photos on black and tan partis or blue and tan partis. Still have to on the golden partis though.
