We got the x-ray today. How many do you think there are??

We are getting our X-rays tomorrow, I wonder if they'll let me have a copy of it.

Im curious where your seeing the three??

My vet said the head high up on the right doesnt line up with the spine beneath it so she thinks there are two on the right and one on the left.

I see 1 on the left, 2 on the right...

Is it normal for their heads to be facing north instead of south?

I've been feeling kicking real low in her abdomen just above the pelvic bone. Last night her tummy tightened up and I could feel bulges on the upper right and left, and also down low where I felt kicking. Is it possible for the pups to shift that much to be high up like that in the x-ray?

It's normal and it doesn't mean that they won't turn around before they are born. I have had a litter where the x-ray showed all heads facing down and all three pups were born back- end first. But if nothing changes with yours, it looks like you will have two butt first and one head first.

I only saw two . One high up on right and one on left. but on my pc the pic was very clear either.

HA-I saw that too and was wondering about that. I've only heard 3 heartbeats but I dont have a great stethoscope either. Wednesday is day 57 so we dont have too much longer to guess.

I was trying to listen to heartbeats again just now--my poor girl! I could see her belly tightening up and she was flopping on the bed trying to get comfortable.

I'm definately questioning if there are 4 though. Definately 2 on the right....thats not in question. However-on the left--I'm just unsure. The one on the lower left--thats the one in question. The vet didnt point that one out at all.

LOL I'll keep listening though--I'll catch her when shes sound asleep and let you know if I pick up a 4th heartbeat.

I have no patience..haha I wanna know NOW. :confused:

What day is she on now? I'm really not sure about the 4th one, it could be a gas pattern (though it looks to regular to be that). You wouldn't necessarily hear a 4th heart beat if one is lying on top of another though (which could also explain the poor visibility of the 4th).

This is exciting- What do I get if I guessed right? ;)

ETA: Duh- just saw that today is day 57!

haha Today is actually day 59..I miscounted. No pups yet.....but I'm anxiously waiting. I'm already having sleepless nights cuz I keep waking to check on her. We're all ready though.

I found a better stethoscope and too bad cuz now I hear heartbeats everywhere (thats what I get huh).

Or east, or west...:p Pups aren't always born head first. We once actually passed the time once betting M&Ms on if the next pup would be born feet or head first and if it would be a boy or girl. :rolleyes:

Oh, good. Glad I'm not the only one. I originally saw 4 also but I'm very inexperienced at reading x-rays. Can't wait to hear the outcome. Good luck with the birthing!!

Lol, I only saw 2 but dont really know what I'm looking for. There is a dark shape that looks like a rabbit, lol, if that says anything about my experience in looking at these things. Good luck with your future litter :D

It is very interested, why you doing Xray exam? Can you do ultrasonic dopler exam where you see a hearts puppy

An x-ray will show the size of the puppies to ensure they are adequate size for safe delivery. Although the head count is still in question, I know I can at least expect three and I'll definately watch for a 4th AND a rabbit.:D
