Help! I just bought a 3 year old female yorkie yesterday from a woman who was very shady. She told me the reason she wanted to get rid of Gracie is because she wouldnt ever get pregnant. I drive miles to see this poor baby and when I got there the ladys home was nasty Gracie was dirty and matted and I felt so bad I had to take her. I got my baby home and got her all cleaned up..matts had to be cut out and she was brushed out and I put bows in her hair and made her the pretty baby she is suppose to be. Anyway..Today my daughter and I both felt fluttering in Gracies tummy so I called the wicked woman and asked her what the world it might be..she answers with" Oh yes I bred Gracie with my five pound male yorkie and she will be due the 28th". NOW for my question.IS the fluttering puppies or could it be gas..Gracie is thin.. U can count her bones as U pet her its so bad! And she doesnt show at all. Nipples dont have any milk that I can tell. |

Do get her to the vet, if her first due date is on the 28th, you can obtain x-rays on the 55th day of gestation. start feeding 3 or 4 times a day. ' You don't have much time so, you'll have to get whelping supplies. We're to help you get through this. Oh! milk does not come in for a bit, hopefully it doesn't. Don't allow the vet to put Gracie on Calcium pills until after she's had the pups, that is if she's pregnant. |

Once you get her to the vets, we'll begin getting you a list of the basics you're gonna need. |

But, in the mean time, is there anyone that you know that lives close by that knows anything about whelping puppies? If so, contact them, you're are going to need them....it's much better to have 2 sets of hands, especially your first time. |
I read your thread in the general forum and you got some good advice. Since she was bred you must assume she's pregnant, whether she is or not. Also, with the due date less than 2 weeks away, do see a vet ASAP to confirm if she's expecting or not. From the condition you describe her being in, she's in need of a wellness check anyway. Her skinniness could be due to parasites or any number of things. I'm sure Gracie appreciates being with someone who cares for her. She should blossom into a wonderful girl for you. Just get that vet check done and if she's expecting, there are any number of breeders here than can answer any questions you have as the time approaches. Congratulations on your new furbaby and best of luck! |

Other than getting her to the vet I really have no advice for you. I have never bred Yorkies. But I want to wish you all the best and listen to Mardelin. You couldn't have anyone better to advise you.:) |
Ok.. she just ate up cottage cheese. lol She liked that alot! Anyway I thank ALL of U for Ur advice and I will assume she is going to have pups till the vet sees her. Thank you all again. Shes such a good dog..Ive already fell head over heals. |
