ok:) at what age do you introduce them to food? I know soft puppy food you have to put their paws in it first. What about water? How do I show them the shallow dish to drink out of and when do I start that? Mom is still feeding them but she has less patience. I tried trimming their nails but they are still sharp.. They are 19 days old today. Thanks | I introduce them to Goats Milk, equal parts of distilled water and Gerber's rice ceral at about 4 weeks of age. I add ground puppy kibbles when the pups have their milk teeth. Don't expect miracles. If mother's milk is plentiful, some pups won't take to it readily. What you are doing it introducing them to it. I take mother away for about an hour, so they can do whatever with it; it eat, walk through it. They will make a mess, but mom will come back; clean them, polish off what's left. |
