yorkiepup.com? Does anyone have any information about the breeder that has the website www.yorkiepup.com ? There seem to be alot of positive customer testimonials and the breeder was not on the list of breeders banned from AKC. Some of the prices are incredibly high but some are better than the prices I have found in New York. What do you guys think? |
I do NOt want to offend anyone Please.. ok here is my opinion, and again Please, I hope none of the breeders get mad at me, I know we sometimes have to use the term teacup, so other understand what we are talking about. also I'm only a new Yorkie Owner so I dont know much, however I did do a lot of reading and talk to many many breeders AKC & CKC before ,I became a owner my self. They always told me not to get a puppy advertise to be a teacup, becasue there is no such thing, all yorkies are standard I have read and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, Please do! but I have read AKC will not recognize or catagorized teacup yorkies, I also read and was told from breeders that have been breeding for over 12 thru 30 years experince that, these tiny pups will, and not all of them but many of them will have problems , since they are so tiny. their sugar will be low, they can break bones very easily, and forget about breeding a tiny girl ( complications all over) I will tell you that my baby is very tiny, So I might be contributing to the demand for small tiny yorkies, I din't purchase him because he was tiny neither did the breeder advertise him as a TEACUP Yorkie, she just say his father was 31/2 pounds and his mother weights about 6 pounds, His father was kind of small but she did assure me.he might be small he might be big she coun't guarante the size. I was also told to stay away from those breeders tha cross breed ( AGAIN PLEASE< I DO NOT WANT TO OFFEND ANY BREEDER :o )because even if you get papers that say they are pure breed how do u really know if there is different males with the female ( I know you could tell my the marking, but sometimes you can't) but if you are like me, I always look for was is best for the breed and to AKC standards. I don't show my dog or even plan to breed at the time. But I felt in love with the breed and the day I went, Just to look at puppies It was love at first site with my Nemo. I'm sorry to go on for so long. I think everyone has different prefrences and regardless of the color, size or mix breed our babies are we al have in common that we love them. In my opinion this website sounds like is people who really care about their dogs and well been of them and are reasonable, in a way, I my self do not feel confortable getting puppies were there is more than one breed . ( I know is hard to find since , normally breeder , breed one or 2 breeds)As far as what I read their is no Teacups and no one should charge extra for the size, and no one should definatly not charge extra for a crossbreed animal,Breeding consumes alot of time , energer and lots & lots of money and sometimes a few brokehearts. I think when you get your puppy find one that is a reasonable price for you. Go look around , check a few breeders out before you make your decision, See in what condition they are how outgoing or how shy the dogs are, look at their coast, teeth check their papers, look to see if their is other males with that female of another(only if your truly intersted in pure breed) I myself ended up paying a lot more than what, I really wanted, but when I look back it was worth I would do it again and wold probably even pay more.. Good Luck, just become more aguanted with the breeders meet the parent of your porspect baby. again I'm sorry for writing such a long book . I just like to express my feelings and opinion.. :p Good LUCk xoxox to all breeder and Yorkie owners :) |
All I can say is I would stay far away from this breeder. |
I don't know, when I see a "teacup" for $10,000.00, that's an automatic "no-no" for me. If I were you, personally, I'd keep looking. I'm sure there are better breeders out there. |
Did you check out the picture of the kennel? She must have atleast 20 cages along each wall with dogs in them! I would not consider buying from her. |
I dont know a thing this breeder, other then Ive seen the site, I once asked a question to the owner, they answered it promptly even though it had nothing to do with purchasing. I am not condoning or comdemning this site. I just wanted to give a little insight why breeders kennel their dogs. Not everyone will agree. My yorkies get to run roughly 8 hours a day together, unless pregnant etc. then they are separated. I can not watch them 24-7, they get human attention, its split up amongst them for special time. Having more then one and having them run together all the time it is literally impossible to tell who is having a loose stool, who may have vomitted...etc. SO kenneling is a way of monitoring the health of the dog and have some control, where as if they run freely all the time it is out of control. At the end of my dogs day they want in their own area, its their very own personal space. I try to keep a very clean area, and I have to be able to bleach, disinfect, remove poo...lol etc........when the dogs go out for the day, same for their kennels, cleaned bleached. They also have grassy fenced area to run in the nice weather.....unfortunately hasnt been weather I can permit them to go out right now.....but they love it when its permitted.........spring is coming and this will be a frequent occurance soon! I just cant let my dogs roam freely thru the house.......I have to many and its unsanitary. They tend to try to outmark each other. Im not trying to justify a breeder who kennels a dog and never lets it out.........that is completely cruel and I know it happens. I am just saying I wont judge unless I know the complete setup. Im not even completely happy with my setup right now........this spring we are converting our separate two car garage into kennels, heat & air, doggie door, with a great big run!!!!!! with trees etc.........I just cant wait. Right now My yorkies have a extra large not remodeled room in our farmhouse....its all theirs. |
i just checked out their website......... they actually defended the word "teacup"....... check this out: So you don't like the word "Teacup"? We use the word Teacup to explain the potential size of a pup. We could call it a Tiny, Teeny Weeny, Bitszy, Dwarf, Miniature, Diminutive, or some other adjective that would describe a tiny dog, but we like the word Teacup. There are many reputable breeders who specialize in small dogs. All breeders and most people looking for the small Yorkies know there is no AKC Teacup Standard, they just know it means small. The breeders who hate the word Teacup no matter what they think it means will always charge you more money for the, Teacup, Tiny, Teeny Weeny, Bitszy, Dwarf, Miniature, Diminutive, sized pups they are offering. Look at any web site selling Yorkie pups, the breeders that complain about the word Teacup on their web site and how it affects OTHER breeders pups prices will ALWAYS, ALWAYS, sell you their Tiny, Teeny Weeny, Bitszy, Dwarf, Miniature, Diminutive or "Teacup" sized pups at the highest price. No matter what they say about the word "Teacup", small Yorkies mean more $$$, and they know it! At yorkiepup.com we have long lines of champions in our breeding Yorkies, but we never use that to determine the price of a pup. We don't do AKC dog shows or follow any AKC standards, but we do breed & raise what people want, and that is loving, Teacup, Tiny, Teeny Weeny, Bitszy, Dwarf, Miniature, Diminutive, puppies! If some people think the AKC doesn't recognize ,Teacup, Tiny, Teeny Weeny, Bitszy, Dwarf, Miniature, Diminutive, sized Yorkies, then maybe they should tell the AKC to quit accepting money from the hundreds of breeders who pay thousands and thousands of dollars each year to register their Teacup sized pup litters. You don't see the AKC turning away that money - now do you? Teacup, Toy, and Standard are only words we use to describe the size of pups or adults, it has nothing to do with the AKC, ACA, UKC, CKC or any of the other 50+ dog registerations available out there. There is such a thing as "Teacup" sized Yorkies, and we have them! They trying to start a revolution or something??? |
Makes me sick. Please don't buy from them. |
That breeders name is Jeff Dane and the best advice I can give you is run the other way. He breeds to get rich, and does not care how he gets the ridiculous prices he asks for his pups. |

ten-thooooousand dollars . . . that is SO ridiculous!!! :omg: |
I think I'm going to have to agree with all of you. I will stay far away. I don't understand why they charge $750 for one dog but $10,000 for another dog? They aren't that different looking. Thanks for the advice guys! |
Never bought a dog from him but................. First I want it understood that I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED A DOG FROM JEFF DANE. However, I want to tell you about my experience with Jeff. I purchased a yorkie from a BB crook, and the dog was extremely and what turned out to be terminally ill. I did not know about these forums at that time. In desperation, I contacted Jeff Dane. Jeff responded to me quickly and gave me a lot of info that I did not get from the BB, so I have nothing but positve to say about Jeff. There was no money in it for Jeff and he was very supportive during the illness of my furbaby. I don't know if I would want a dog "airmailed" to me, but Jeff was kind, supportive and considerate of my questions and gave me honest and detailed answers. :animal-sm |
just want to let you know that HAD purchased a baby girl yorkie that is $3,500 dollars and she's perfectly healthy and very cute. I understand the price is really high but then I figure out that yorkie babies are worth that much becuase of all the work and money and time that put into it. We live in waco so we are just couple hours away from there. |
Who are the ancestors of your pup ? Will you show the puppy ? |
I have never bought a dog from Him but I have read other chat forums and have only herd bad stuff about how people have spent thousands on puppies from him and they got very very ill and died a few weeks after buying there puppy from him and he would not even answer back to them. I have nothing good to say about him and I dont think it is right to have dogs put in those little cages. |
I posted this a while back ... went back and copied it ... this is our "almost" experience with Jeff Dane!: Wasn't going to mention it ... but ... yorkiepup.com ... when my Patrick was on the "Yorkie Quest" he found this site. Called the owner after we had viewed the babies and made arrangements to buy one! We have a BIG problem with shipping these precious babies and were assured that they were sent in the "cabin" and watched closely! OK ... we came to terms with this as we didn't have time to go and pick her up! We were soooo excited! We felt like we had done our "homework" after we were assured that this little one would not be placed in a "baggage hold" of a plane!! We were even given a flight number and arrival time for Lambert in St. Louis! The day before we were to wire the $2700 for our baby, my husband was so excited he called the airport to see exactly where we were to pick up our baby! They didn't have a clue what he was talking about!! He was assured that any unaccompanied animal was indeed placed in with baggage on the plane!! Patrick was furious and let the breeder know in no uncertain terms that we would NEVER allow that to happen to an animal and promptly cancelled!! We were both heartbroken ... I was so disappointed I couldn't even function for days! He had searched for so long and then finally thought we had found exactly what we were looking for! We just went "back to the drawing board" and began reading, studying and searching again! I am so thankful that we did, because that's when he found the vet that recommended Ava and after several months we finally held our precious little Toto in our arms!! And ... needless to say ... we have never let go!! Bottom line ... do your homework and then do it again! We are so blessed to have this healthy, happy little "furball"! The sad thing in all this is, there was probably someone else who didn't mind that sweet baby being in the "cargo hold" of a plane ... I just pray that it wasn't too traumatized and that it has a really good home ... at least we weren't the ones who subjected it to that!!! We know now that we should have done so much more research ... but it was just soooo easy ... we ran across this liar's website and the baby was just the cutest thing we had ever seen and I thought I would absolutely die if I didn't have it!!! Now it scares me to death to think that I wouldn't have Toto .... and she is so sweet and her health has been too good to be true!! ;) |
Here's one with not so good looking yorkies http://yorkiepassion.com |

i agree i see nothing wrong with those pups there adorable a couple of them even look like my brownie ! |
Broker I have been told several times that Jeff Dane is a breeder, but is also a PET BROKER! He buys up other breeders litter and resale them for big money! Did anyone ever see when he had advertised that he bred a Rott (Female) to a yorkie (male) ( I am sure he used AI) and advertised them as ONE BAD A_SS YORKIE!!! He makes me sick!! I honestly would look for a reputable breeder!! Melanie |

I think their appearance is lovely. Sophiesmom...personal attacks are not tolerated here on yorkietalk. Re-read the rules. |
Sophiesmom: Umm...you really shouldn't criticize. Because if nothing else, her site is very professional. Yours includes your humping dog video and the view of your mouse hole. Also there are a lot of ways to clean up your maltese's face stains, do a little research about the breed you are breeding. |
Jeff Dane=Bad News, look elsewhere |

The owner of yorkiepassion.com listed Sophiesmom site as not having very nice looking puppies. The thread was closed and she posted here. |
