any updates? |
Oh no!! I hope everything is going ok!! |
We did an xray and an ultrasound upon arrival last night. The puppy's head was massive, a centimeter bigger than her pelvic opening and there's no way it was going to come out naturally. It was also breech and laying a bit sideways. The ultrasound couldn't find a heartbeat but the doc couldn't see very well because of the way the pup was laying. We did the c-section, and the puppy didn't make it. It had no heartbeat and they still tried to resuscitate it but to no avail. I heard its heartbeat yesterday so I assume the hard labor at home was just too much stress for it to handle. All of that pushing and the pup was still very high up, almost in her ribcage. Kiwi was spayed during the surgery. I never want her to go through this again! Longest night of my life! I feel so terrible. But I am very thankful she came out of the c-section okay. I would not know what to do with myself if she died during surgery. Wishing for happy and healthy deliveries for all of the upcoming mommas to be! |
Oh my, I am so sorry for your loss. You had such a horrendous night and an sad end. Just know we are here for you and praying for you and your baby. I hope she has a smooth and quick recovery. |
sorry :( oh I am so sorry to hear this. I am in tears.. :( Kiwi is ok which is a blessing. The poor puupy. Did any puppies survive? Give her all the attention she wants these next few weeks. I am so afraid now. I dont know what I would do if I lost my Gezell..wow..where did you end up taking her for a c-section? Was it the orginal Vet who refused? Dont ever go to that Vet again. He should be more concerned with saving lives then a credit card ..ridiculous.. I hope Kiwi feels better soon :) and you.. Quote:

So sorry for your loss of the puppy and sending prayers and good thoughts to your girl Kiwi for a speedy recovery and good health. Dion |
Thank you for the kind words. I was a mess last night & this morning and I couldn't stop crying. Kiwi seems to be recovering well though. This morning she was very listless and out of it but now she seems to be her old self again- maybe a more tired version of herself. I am taking this time to give her plenty of cuddles and snuggle time. The vet did say that her uterus didn't look very healthy :( so I am very glad I had her spayed. |
think my yorkie is due june 26th when does a yorkie start to show cause in my siberian husky she started showing at 3 wks and stopped jumping up and down..chloe should be 3 wks yesterday and she's not showing and she still jumps up and down when she wants to go outside...i saw the tye on april 23rd just for a few min...went back on sat april 24th cause it would of been the last day for her to get pregnate and they tied for 15-20min could she still be pregnate...my husband thought she should be showing now and slowing down.. |
They don't show till week 6 or so, mine started at 5 and is now on day 53 and was jumping and everything up until a week ago |
I agree with Rad..... Especially if this is a first pregnancy. Sometimes they don't slow down until you make them/ or until their last two weeks. |

Help Anyone know if heavy panting is the first stage of labor? She is doing a few other things but the panting is getting worse. She is next to me on the couch now but cant get comfortable. Her normal temp of 99.5 is now 98.2. How much does it have to drop or is that a waste of time? She ate very little a few hours ago and she never refuses chicken! :) any help :)i would appreciate |
This is my first time too, but everything I read sounds like this is the beginning. Temp of 98+ and panting and restlessness. Is it time? Were you expecting them around now? Keep a close eye and look for a mucus plug as signs. Try to keep her strength up and water too. Keep us posted... |
