All I can say is that you will really have your work cutout. I have been raising yorkies for 13 years and I have had litters of 7 only twice. I have a litter of 7 now that is 3 days old, 5 females and 2 males. Mom is 8 lbs and dad is 5 lbs. They bred only one time. This is the first time I think I might have a set of twins. Two tiny girls popped out at the same time. Thank goodness my husband was there helping because it is hard dealing with two at a time and then a third came out while we were still getting the other two going. There are three tiny girls in the litter and they are requiring extra attention since they were just around 2 1/2 oz at birth. The mom is doing an excellent job. It is her first litter and she delivered on the 59th day from the tie so you need to really be prepared because sometimes the big litters come early.

I have had tiny pups in the past and have given them the glucose solution mentioned in paragraph 10 of the article. I think it really helps. I have been giving it to the three tiny girls in this litter and supplementing with the goats milk formula.

It is very important that the new puppies be kept warm so hopefully you will have a heating pad that will cover 1/2 the whelping box. I use a whelping heat pad that maintains a 100 degree temperature.

I give my mommas a little Nutri-cal throughout the delivery and afterwords.

I've pretty much been a sponge over the last 6-7 weeks. Reading, asking and finding as much information as possible, watching video's on YouTube on Yorkies and Whelping. I have also been keeping in contact with a friend/breeder in CA (she breeds Weimaraneras & Shiz Tzu's) just trying to be as prepared as possible. While it wasn't exactly a planned pregnancy, all these lives are my responsibility and I want to do right by them...and at the same time I am trying not to offend any breeders on here.

Yes, her box is ready, right next to my bed, and she's been sleeping in and out of it at night. We have a small space heater, the "fan" type, not a fire danger one, heating pad, towels, blankets, etc...I have an entire basket ready with all my whelping supplies...hemostats, bulb syringe, scale, towels, chucks, thermometer, etc...can't think of it all right now, but everything that I have found online that I "should have" is in there.

Tomorrow is her 55th day, and we're not leaving her side. We've had a litter with our Boxer mix back in 2003 and she had 10 pups, but somehow I am much more nervous this time!

Yes we did. We've had Romo since he wa 8 wks old....he's 2.5 now, and when we got her, it was really the first name that came to mind. :)
