Bleeding after last weeks tie - YorkieTalk.com Forums

I had Tink bred one week ago yesterday and she is still bleeding today. Is that normal?

This is her first time getting bred and her second heat. The blood is dark and I am worried she may not have taken. She tied 20 min each day (3days). Any experience in this would be much appreciated.

I had a Guard dog bleed after mating. Took her to the vet and she had an infection. He put her on antibiotics and she cleared up and went on to have puppies.
You need to take her to your vet and get her checked out.

It is not uncommon for this to happen..but you might feel better to have the vet check for infection...some of mine just seem to do this without infection and have puppies.

Took her to vet yesterday and he said she is fine and should stop soon. He told me some dogs just have different heats.
