If you click on the link I believe the Fitchburg show is in May of 2010, it was so fun to see all the dogs, not just the yorkies but all of them. The yorkies were just beautiful.. I got to meet Susan of Clover Hill, her dog Isabella won, I got to hold her and help comb her. All the breeders are very very nice, they talk to you , explain things to you etc... its deffinatly a fun day and worth the trip! |
no prob and thats the reason i posted here first and yorkierose im sry for our misunderstanding you took what i said totally the wrong way and i took what you said the total wrong way  once again i apologize and i thank you for being blunt.. i guess what i ment to say was that most pets these days come from usually irresponsible people sadly to say like the mofo i bought my baby from .....and the best quality pets come from show stock.... When was that ny one btw i didnt kno that the fitchburg one was so far away we got a good 3 months before then and i think a trip to ny would be nice!!! i havent been there since i bought lola and after that we couldnt go shopping and stuff we just wanted to come home with our new little girl and just fyi Im not a she but rather in fact very much a he :D with a she looking over my shoulder lol |

Oh well that's nice to hear ONCE AGAIN I JUST WANTED TO GIVE EVERYONE A BIG THANKS FOR HELPING OUT ON THIS ISSUE I FEEL I HAVE MADE THE RIGHT DECISION AND NOW AM READY TO START THIS JOURNEY THE RIGHT WAY:) anyone know of some good sites or books to get started with the research aspect of things? |
Good for you Colt to call AKC as was recommended. And good for the AKC to offer to help you sort through the paperwork. I am glad you are making the decision you have to spay her. Also what are her teeth like? Have the vet take a look and if she has some double rows of teeth you might consider having the baby ones removed when she is under for the spay. |
The Dog show in NYC is this weekend, I do believe the New Yorker has rooms available if you want to stay over night, however you could always just drive to Standford Ct and take the train in from there, much cheaper IMO... It is at the New Yorker Grand Ball Room , I believe TOPKNOT can give you the link with further details. Also I just want to suggest that you have your vet run a full blood panel on your puppy since it is likely that she is from a puppymill, this will just make you feel alot better and you will know how she stands health wise. I know you are not planing on breeding her but its good to just have them do this prior to having her spayed anyways.. at least that is what I was told. |

So sad that after all everyone has said you still want to add to this problem and become a BYB. :thumbdown Prayers and best wishes for your female. |

That is great that you finally listened to us. I felt like shouting, but I guess a good night's sleep helped you mull through thing. Thank you to the person with the link of where this precious girl came from. I am so sorry that your girl actually came from a place like that (puppymill - UGH!). At least she is home with you now and is safe. P.S. I almost did not write anything else this morning before work and just thought - I give up. I would recommend doing that full blood panel too - you need to. I have one done on all my pups. Better safe than sorry. Plus it gives the vet an idea of how her body functions when she is well too. Here is some great books for enjoyable reading to start with - * The Joy of Breeding Your Own Show Dog, by Ann Seranne *The Complete Yorkshire Terrier, by Gordon and Bennett We will give you the hearvier stuff for reading later. Here is the link for the NY shows: Yorkshire Terrier Club of America New York Specialty Everyone is really nice and you will have a great time!! Have fun!! :D |
Well the vet checked her teeth about 2 weeks ago i believe. I brought her in because she was sneezing a lot and had some discharge from her nose.... turned out she caught a cold :( but shes better now ... but the vet told me all her milk teeth were gone and that her teeth were actually excellent but im def going to order the full blood panel |

Friday is Judging Puppy Sweepstakes: Puppies are competing for best puppy, no points towards their Championship ...in other words you'll see up and coming puppies from 6 months to 18 months of age. 2 seperate clubs. I think it's the New York Club first and the National Club Follows Saturday is the NY Yorkie Club.... Dogs Shown from 6 months & Up and the coveted title of Best Of Breed at a Specialty Sunday is the National Club Same as above.......But the Best of Breed is what every one dreams of getting at this show... |
