Yorkie Valley Puppys I am hoping to adopt a 12 week old yorkie from a yorkietalk member who purchased her puppy from Yorkie Valley Puppys. I did a BBB search and they rate an A+, but when I checked out the puppymill on this site, they are listed :( What are your thoughts....anyone ever hear of these people? Anyone ever buy a puppy from them and were there any problems. Keep in mind that I am not buying from them directly. Thanks for your help.:animal-pa |
I'm confused. Is the YT member re-selling a puppy or are you looking at the same breeder? |

She is re-selling. The puppy was bought for her sister-in-law and she cannot keep her. I have spoken to the YT member on the phone and by email and she seems very nice and genuine. I was just wondering if anyone knew about this breeder. |
I am not looking for a show dog...I would just like some background info on the breeder. The current owner is very thoughtful and nice and I am very sure she is taking wonderful care of the puppies. They are listed on the USDA list of breeders and the thread says they could be potential puppy mill people....their website says they don't allow home visits any longer because they had a puppy stolen from them. I am just curious....:animal-pa |
Simply put, I would not buy a puppy that I knew came from someone that is a puppy mill. I would rescue one, but if I were to buy one, I would rather my money go towards a dog that I knew was well bred from a reputable breeder. JMO. |

I will also say, I don't care how nice people are selling dogs...they are all nice until you get the $$$. May I ask how much this person wants for the dog? Is there any health warranty? I just reread the thread and I don't understand the current owners are taking good care of the puppies... "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY PUPPIES?" Is this the website? http://www.yorkievalleypuppys.com/ |

From time to time Show breeder may have a nice pet available with a spay/neuter contract. If you are looking for a pet, you may want to check out the show breeders in your area. |
In the For Sale section there is a long time member selling a puppy she bought from this breeder the OP is asking about. The pup was actually being purchased by her SIL, something happened and Sara went ahead and bought the pup. The pup is not getting along wth Saras baby and she wanted to find it a good home. (I just read and got all caught up :) ) Here is the thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...uppy-sale.html Quote:

Thanks for catching this up - I was getting ready to do the same, so now I don't have to. :D |
I guess I am very shocked that a long time YT member would buy from these people (if I have the right website) for a lot of reasons... But this is just one of them...:( Security We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order. Shaking my head... To the OP, just so you understand USDA puppies usually means someone doesn't give a poop about the dogs and is just breeding to make $$$. Health could be a concern as it is doubted they have done any tests with the parents and just do what they are required bylaw with the puppy. There are a number of good breeders who would sell you a good puppy for about the same price and be there if you need them. |

they also sell mixes and do not allow home visits bc the USDA already inspects them. And that website is soooo hard to read. Use that return key and make paragraphs your friend! |

This is the puppy! |
Yes I got Maggie from Yorkievalleypuppys. I asked the breeder to keep her longer but she had already separated her from Momma and she didn't want to keep her longer, as she was already alone-her sister had left. Sophie also came from this breeder, which is why I went ahead and got Maggie from here. She was recommended to me from a groomer. I did not think Yorkievalley was a puppymill, and I really hope they are not. They do accept credit cards..and paypal. Sophie was a great dog and I wanted one that was related to her but she was no longer breeding her mom and dad. I don't know if Maggie is related to her but she is a wonderful puppy. If I found out she wasn't healthy or something was wrong with her I would def. not sell her. |
I know that you are all about the good of your yorkies. I would never even think you would sell a sick puppy. Please don't think that was what this thread was about. I just wanted to know more about the breeder. :animal-pa |
Now that I've read the entire thread, the SIl should return the pup to the original breeder/puppymill. If you want a healthy puppy buy one from a breeder that doesn't sell puppies under 12 weeks of age. JMHO |

There are quite a few red flags with this breeder, IMO! First of all they have hundreds and hundreds of photos on Flicker with the dogs standing next to everything from a roll of toilet paper, milk carton, pop cans, etc.. The size of the the females they are breeding! The mix of breeds they are breeding They are USDA licensed and proud of it!!! They do NOT allow visits, I would NEVER buy from someone who has this policy and they mention the "visitor policy" in all the ads. They seem to advertise all over the place! I noticed on some of their flicker photos, it mentions N.Y. pet store next to it, I don't know if that means they sell to NY pet stores?? |

I find it hard to believe that you could not determine that after being a longtime YT member. |

First off, don't be naive enough to believe that everyone on YT is about the good of yorkies. Sure, many are; but there are many who have other agendas imho. You now have been given information about the breeder, just like the person you are thinking about buying the puppy from was given. I can only say this. If you are willing to run a risk of having serious health issues with your yorkie go for it. You best have a stash of money just in case! Some things don't show up right away. There are many, many threads on YT of things that happen with poorly bred yorkies. Since clearly many people on YT could give a rats behind about the numbers of yorkies being euthanized daily, I doubt that my posting about those horrors is going to make a huge difference here. It has been said countless times and people still pad the pockets of these worthless, lazy humans who make a living off the backs of defenseless pups. |
