Labor getting hard and heavy(Help)
 
need to know how long I should let her push since the pups were big ,before I take her to the vet. Every 5 minutes she is pushing now 30 minutes, push 3 times then stops. How long should I give her

1 hour 45 minutes hard pushing then I would be on my way to the vet...make sure no green discharge if so straight to the vet.

They usually have them within an hour once the hard labor starts. When they are in hard labor the contractions are usually a minute apart or less. Are you feeling any bulge yet?

No bulge yet and she is still pushing and no water is broke. She is pushing every 3 minutes are so it seems.

No longer than an hour of strong labor.

Water bubbles don't always present themselves.

Mary can she use that to lube her up, I was hoping she had ky to insert up into her.

I love it....The lube up!!!!!!

Yep! Put on a surgical glove, coat a finger with KY Jelly, and gently insert your finger into her vaginal opening, See if you can feel a puppy. At the same time gently move your finger around "this is called feathering" It should get her to get those contractions going harder and her pushing.

She only has vasaline

Can I use vasaline. It feels like they are 1 inch or so away from vulva. She is still pushing.

Vaseline is not good. Too much bacteria.

It has been one hour now. If she needs a csection it is 25 minutes to get to the vet. I do not like the vet on duty right now. He buchered my last yorkies tail straight off.

did you feather her? if it was me and all I had was vaseline I would do it..

I would too, I swear by the lube up:) but you got to remember Blossom has 7 to 7.5 oz pups. It helps so much.

Yes and It feels like the pups are in a ball. she is still about one inch from her vulva

Now when you were in there, could you feel where if the pups head was down or up?

Also, If the head is struggling to pass you can dilate a bit. As someone else stated lube her up./

yes is like a soft massage inside to get her to open up...slow and soft..

I've reamed them a bit.....it will bruse the vulva a bit....but, it does help pass the pups.

I think I'd be heading for the vet

Can not feel the pups heads, She got up and was walking around looking for me and moved to a different box. Maybe they are blocked and can not come out. That is what I am afraid of. 1 hour 10 minutes. She is still shevering.

Yes I did and boy was I right. So glad all went ok for u sorry that your dog had to have a csection. Sassy might be next, though. Time is ticking down to vet run.

Do you have nutrical....do you have the goat's milk mixture?

It's getting long on time...She's been in hard labor for over an hour. This can pup the pups into respiratory distress.
