Thank you for those very kind words, but really I wouldn't of had the first clue what I needed or why I needed it if it wouldn't have been for Jodi sending me here, and all the great advise and lists I found :) I just pray that everything goes well, and that I did end up making the right decision for Bella Boo. I know she's so much happier now, then when we brought her home, but I don't know what I'd do if something ended up happening when she whelps :(

I do have preemie nipples, and oral syringes. Her vet is going to come give her the Oxy shot after she has the babies, should I wait until then for the dextrose, or get it ahead of time? ( Its for sub q injections if they're not nursing, right? )

Would the latex gloves that come in first aid kids be okay? Because I do have some of those, but if not I go get a different kind.

I'd ask for the dextrose in advance......You never know what can happen in the first few hours. The vet's is usually premixed and has along shelf life.

The latex gloves that you have should be fine, as long as they have been kept sanitary.

Ok, I'll call her today and ask for the dextrose and syringes. I just checked and the gloves are still sealed, so I'll add those to the "whelping room"

Sub-Qing is not that difficult, after you get over the initial reluctance of putting a needle to something so small. You'll administer directly under the skin and between the neck and shoulder area....but, it does give a pup the chance to build up strength so, that it can nurse. You may not need it, but you can never be too prepared.

yes a couple of bags of dextrose are a must have, I always keep them here, my son thought me how to do it, I don't like it, but in an emergency you will do it.. hope like me you don't have to use them, but is a peace of mind knowing that you have them..

The great thing with Bella's vet is that she makes house calls, and she's never in a hurry. I'll have her show me exactly what to do (and hope that's its info I'll never need) with the dextrose and the feeding tube.

Bella keeps putting small stuffed toys in her crate, :D is that normal? I have put her crate in the room with her whelping box, but she really loves the crate, and I keep picturing her trying to deliver in the crate, or moving the babies in there later. I guess if its a problem during the whelp I can just lock the door or move it to another room, but I don't want to take it away from her for weeks, its her "safe spot".

If she tries to move them after they are born, should I let her?

You know her crate isn't a bad thing. Is it covered. You may want to put her crate into an x-pen, removing the door and cover it.....Pututing her small stuffed toys in her crate is normal.

Yes, her crate is covered up with a blanket. So it doesn't matter after the puppies are born if she moves them in there, right?

When she starts delivering, I'll lock the door so she doesn't try to have them in there ( I wouldn't be able to see whats going on, and would have a hard time getting to the puppies ).

Who knows, maybe she'll want to keep her crate to herself so she can "escape" ;) when she needs a break.
