Help! Has anyone heard of this breeder or bought from her before? My Loveable Yorkies My Loveable Yorkies |
|
Yes About a year ago I bought a yorkie but didn't get mine from my loveable yorkies. But shortly after a friend of mine found my loveable yorkies and she got hers from there. Her tiny yorkie is adorable and arrived in great shape and good health. I didn't have that same experience and wish I had done some more research like my friend did. I would recommend them from viewing her experience. |
Don't know her personally. She doesn't breed dogs that completely conform to the standard. She breeds her little 3.5 lb girl, which is having its second litter first week of November. But what really caught my eye is she said the puppies would be ready around Christmas time. THATS 6 WEEKS OLD!!!! Most puppies shouldn't leave till their 12 weeks, especially how small those pups are! Not only that, but her prices for the smaller puppies ($5 to $4 grand) are crazy! I would keep looking. JMHO. |
Age My friends yorkie grew to be about 2.0 pounds full grown. When she bought her yorkie because of her tiny size she couldn't come home until she was 16 weeks old. My friend wanted her sooner but the lady wouldn't allow it and wanted to make sure she was completely ready to go to her new home. Quote:

Please take note that: They don't list the weight or age of any the puppies that are listed. They don't note each puppies parents - you can tell that they're not from the same litter or the same parents. They refer to using a Breeders Support Group which really means they sell puppies for other people. Who are the other people? Their prices are extremely different with no explanation. Too many questions... not enough answers. |
Can I contact your friend? |
The yorkie i'm interested in is Paige, it has it's weight listed and it's parents weigh. She orginally bought the yorkie from the breeder who has the yorkie's dam and sire. She wanted to breed her but she found her too small. That's why she listed her at $2000 because she's tiny and a showstopper. She's a very beautiful dog. |
I was also talking with her... She seems very nice. Page is a cutie!!! If you ask her she will send pictures and info about the parents, I think I remember her saying that someone else does her website for her... that may be the reason for the lack of info. I would recomend Deb Sillers at Amazing Yorkies, that's where I've decided to get mine from. I think she said she may have older ones too, not sure though Good luck, You can always ask for references too:aimeeyork |

I also agree, the first doesn't have much information about all of the puppies and it does make one think, possible broker. There are several good reputable breeders in your area. Please to to the YTCA breeder referral. Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club |
Breeder in MO I would be a bit concerned Amazing Yorkies is in Missouri that is the puppy mill capital of the world. Quote:

Here's a couple of Deb's dogs... You'd be lucky to get one of her dogs. http://www.tngdigitalmedia.com/emags.../pageflip.html Check pages 13/14 |
At the bottom of the page of MyLoveableYorkies.com, the name given is Jillian Hogan. I Googled that name. Looks like there are several members of the same family, last name of Hogan, who are involved in this. They sell many types of breeds, and are using lot's of AKA's to do so. Scroll down to "miscellaneous" and get an eyefull. http://www.petshoppuppies.com/report.asp?ID=PETSHOP-2042432299 |

Yeah, that did hurt a bit, I'm sure. It's obvious that when she posted that reply, she didn't do her homework. Clearly Amazing Yorkies is just that, amazing. :) But let's give her the benefit of the doubt, and maybe she was just suggesting that others look into every breeder under close scrutiny. I'm sure she feels pretty bad right now and didn't realize who she was slamming. Plus, you have to admit, MO does have a bad rap. And yes, not every breeder in MO is a mill. Just call me Tara the peacemaker. lols:) |
no doubt she is linking every one in Missouri together. i think it's funny in a way. Someone did that to me one time not realizing that I am a member here . They were upset because I wouldn't sell them a teeny tiny puppy that i thought needed to stay with me a while longer. they came on here talking about " how wrong the breeder was and she was probably going to sell the puppy to someone else for more money.". they got straightened out in a hurry tho. This gal here iss probably too embarrassed at her mistake. |

I've heard about so many mills shut down from VA, FL, and PA yet you never hear about those States being called the "Puppy Mill of the World" as she called it. This is a terrible problem all over these United States, and I certainly wouldn't be leary of JUST Missouri when looking for my next baby! |
Defensive Aren't some of us a little defensive... :) I never said Amazing Yorkies was a puppy mill. I just advised to be careful, I think that anyone looking into getting a puppy/dog should do their research. At least that's what I thought reputable breeders suggested doing but maybe I'm wrong? How mature are we when we feel "slamming" someone makes us a bigger person or more reputable. Amazing Yorkies I was impressed with how you handled the situation, your comment back was tasteful. |
Breeders in MO Thanks! I think what I said was totally taken out of context. Quote:

Looks like another of one of "those" threads. |
And that website reminds me of that Jeff Dane's website. Stupid pictures of puppies in front of soda cans or in teacups and the like. :( |
Oh my I looked into her further and if you check out her reference page some of the people talk about puppy having kennel cough and ear mites. I can't believe she had me thinking she might be ok!!! I'm so glad I did my research and got on YT!!!! Thank you for itzzbarb! I checked out the websites, they are just an online petshop. She told me on the phone that the puppies were raised in her home...she must have a big home! The things people can get away with over the internet is just terrible! |
I am a bit torn on whether or not to even comment on this thread. Some of the comments that have been made here by a new member are so outlandish, that they really speak for themselves. Deb is a long time member here and has contributed a lot to the forum. It would probably be a wise move for ANY member, in particular a brand new one preaching about doing their research, to do just that before making suggestive comments regarding other respected, long time members. As for the original topic of the thread, which I believe was to gather information on a breeder, unfortunately some of the other comments have overshadow that. In the event that this whole entire thread is not a joke and an attempt to cause trouble--and at this point, that is certainly what it seems like--I would advise that please listen to the advice that some of the long time, established members here have given you. (Seems a little fishy when a brand new members joins and immediately is drawn to posting up high praise or being overly critical of a breeder before even introducing themselves and becoming oriented with the forum in general, as has been done here.) There are many red flags on the breeders site, many of which have been pointed out. IMO, it's never a wise move to go with a breeder that is highly questionable when there are so many honest ones out there to choose from. |
