OMG...........I apoligize Geez, I'm so sorry. I just realized that, as you mentioned in the first post of this thread, it is Chloe that is having puppies and I have been referring to her as Bella. Ugh, I am so stupid ; guess that's what happens when rather than paying attention to detail, I only assume who it is going by your screen name. Please forgive me. :( I see there is no new news yet; I do hope that everything is okay with Chloe & her puppies. |
No need to apologize I knew who you were referring to:) Chloe and I appreciate your concern and good wishes! Still no pups her temp keeps going up and down today we are steady at 99 degrees she ate a little bit of can food and eating ice chips and constantly sleeping! We go out for little walks every couple of hours... boy am i getting tired:rolleyes: she wants me constantly in her sight.. We'll be taking another temp in a couple of min. My brother was helping out but he had to attend a funeral and will be back soon. So my mom is helping us out by napping on the couch! I think she is here for moral support! Nikki |
No puppies yet?????? Is she at her due date.....over???? Praying that all is well. |
Nope! no puppies yet tomorrow is her due date (day 63)! Have talked all weekend with the Emergency Vet and said nothing to worry about. that first time litters don't always conform to the Norm. Then first thing this morning contacted our normal vet and said give her some time. I told him that all weekend her temp has been fluctuating between 97.6 to 100. She has not had any other indicator that those little 3 pups are ready to come out. She is still eating but not alot and having to pee all day long. Sometime you feel her tummy tightening but no panting, no nesting. Vet is unconcerned that anything is amiss but he promised to check in tomorrow morning and if nothing by day 65 he will do a c-section. Chloe and my other female are totally different as soon as mia has a temp drop I know within 6hr she is having her pups. But like the vet said all females are different when it comes to delivering just like women.:) I will let you all know the minute after she delivers. |
I would not worry, even if she goes past 65 days. I have had females go up to 70 days from the first breeding and they delivered with no problem. As long as you feel pups moving and the momma does not have any brown discharge then she should be fine. The temperature drops could be attributed to low blood sugar if she is not eating a lot. I pray you have a safe whelping. |

Hope all goes well! Keep us updated! |
We Have Puppies! Chloe had to have a emergency C-section early this morning there was 3 puppies (2 girls 3oz and 4oz and 1 huge boy 7oz) Our male passed away shortly after birth he was the reason she was unable to deliver, he was just so big he became stuck. Chloe is doing good she has a little bleeding the vet said and put her on antibiotics and calcium tablets and pet tabs. poor big guy he will be missed RIP Now we are trying to get Chloe to nurse the little girls does anyone have pointers the girls are having trouble staying on her teet long enough to nurse and are crying. (supplementing with esbilac) in between. and are sucking good on the bottles nipple. Chloe started licking them and is now showing interest in the girls! When I get a chance I will up load our pictures of mom and daughters as soon as everything calms down. Thanks for all your prayers and concern! It came to us just when we needed the most. Thank you all!:) |

The best thing for supplementing is Goats Milk diluted with equal parts of distilled water...... |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I am so glad Chloe is doing well. I will be praying for her to heal fast! I am sorry to hear about the little boy. Hope all goes well and keep us posted! Cant wait to see pictures! :) |
Congratulations!!!! I know that it is difficult with a c-section, but once the medication wears off, she should be fine. Just make sure you keep an eye on her temp. I hope that the little girls thrive. I'm sorry about the little boy. My thoughts and prayers are with you. |
Oh, I am so glad to hear that your wait is over! How sad that such a healthy boy did not make it through the whelp, but the remaining little girls will bring you and Chloe much comfort (as well as worrying over every little thing) in the days & weeks ahead. Mardelin's advice on how to assist the pups is great advice; once they learn to latch on well, they tend not to forget how and things should go well from then on. It sounds like Chloe is doing well and her mothering instincts are kicking in. I am anxious to see your pictures; CONGRATULATIONS to both of you. P.S. Hearing of your 7oz boy makes me that much more thankful that all went well with Halle's whelp of her 6 1/2 -6 3/4 oz. boy. I count my blessings that she had no difficulties and truly feel like a lucky lady. |
Thanks for being there for Chloe and Me through the past couple of days you have all be really helpful. I don't know how to post on the thread so if you want check out my page and they will either have their own or on chloe album:) |
Congratulation on the new litter. I am so sorry you lost the big male. I pray momma and her babies do well. |
Sorry to hear about your loss. It's tough to take, but you and your girls, take good care... |
