Puppy packets... Do any of you recommend any supplements like vitamins or cosequin when puppies go to forever homes? Just wondering because I'm preparing puppy info and wasn't sure. If you do what do you usually recommend they use? Thanks |
We sent pet tabs and a liquid vitamin supplement--also, depending on size, a tube of nutri-cal. There was a thread recently on what breeders put in their puppy packs that would give some ideas. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...ggestions.html |

Thanks:D |
We do not recommend any supplements, however we "EDUCATE" our adoptive families of the danger of hypoglycemia and we advise to have Karo syrup or Nutrical "JUST IN CASE". We never had any cases reported and we keep in touch so... it seems to work well. We believe that if you feed a PREMIUM good quality food there are no needs for supplements. The most common question we get from our adoptive families regarding the feed is : "Can we change the food for a brand of our choice?" and our answer is the same: "we do not recommend, however if you want you can, after you do a lot of research and stay with a PREMIUM brand, appropriate for small breed and have the opinion of your vet. Our own dogs never had supplements, not even our pregnant mommies. We do not believe on these supplements. I would like to follow the thread however, i am not the kind of person that thinks i own the truth , but rather like to learn from other's experiences. XOXO |

There is a breeder in New Hampshire that requires you to keep the puppy in the vitamins they sale for as long as the guarantee goes... it must be a "fad"... XOXO |
