Sorry its taken me a bit to get back to you Mary. I have been deep cleaning my house for fleas. Long story, post a thread on the general discussion about it. As for the cottage cheese it was some advise I had gotten from a vet and website (accidently deleted my bookmarks the other day) that was recommended on YT, but I have yet to clear it with my aunt (the vet I trust with everything).

Cottage cheese is not a a supplement. What you must worry about not administering prior to whelping is a Calcium tablet such as PET CA, which we don't start prior to whelping.....I was under the misconception of that too. Until both my vets; the one in Dallas and my Repo vet here told me differently. Logically thinking, if that were the case I'd be more frightened to even start cottage cheese, then backing down 3 weeks prior....You've already then told the body to shut down the calcium producing.......3 weeks wouldn't give the body to start up again. I've kept my girls on cottage cheese, yogurt, egg, whelping pudding....through their gestation period, with both my vets blessings....

Well thats good to hear! Its hard to get ahold of my aunt all the time. She's always working or enjoying her time with her new family (can't blame the girl). I just wished she lived here instead of almost 5 hours away. I would love her help if Raeley is pregnant to be here to help with the whelping.

Here's Raeley's Belly pictures. She is almost 4 weeks from her 1st tie (Monday). What do you all think?

my maggie's belly looks exactly the same do you think she could be pregnant then??

It is possible. When was her first tie? If you calculate 28 days past the first tie that is when you should take her into the vet to see if they can feel any puppies. Most of the time you can tell by week 5, but some don't swell till the end of the pregnancy. If you have doubts take her to the vet. I'm giving my girl another week and then I will take her in if I can't feel them myself.

it's nearly 5 weeks now she is very clingy too eats and drinks more ( a lot more) has been sick a few times she tied with oscar a few times prob bout 4 i was at work and my smallest son decided to let them play!!! he did'nt know anyway it's nerve racking just not knowing for sure do you know what i mean i wish i knew at least then i woulb be able to get myself ready and book some time off work to look after her i cant wait until i can take her to the vet and find out. if your feeling for pups exactly whaat do you do?

If you carefully squeeze her lower abdomen you should feel something that resembles little balls in her belly. You very well could be past the date that a vet can feel the babies. You might be better off waiting till 7 weeks and see if she has expanded any more. If you do think she is pregnant (sounds to me like she is, excessive eating, drinking, and clinginess) then take her at day 56 or so to get an x-ray (your choice) to see an estimate (could miss one that is behind another puppy) of the puppies you'd be expecting.

My girl has had an increase in eating, drinking, needing attention (she doesn't leave my side unless she is napping on my bed), she can't jump up on my bed anymore, has had an attitude towards my male, she been after human food more than ever, has decreased her playing time, and has been taking everything (socks, tissue, paper, reciepts) that she can find and has been shredding it apart or chewing on it all the time. She feels more comfortable under my bed where she can hid and make a nest, but we have denied her access to under my bed in case she going into labor and we can't reach her under there.

i tried feeling but her belly is as tight as a drum she's very fit i would be afraid of hurting her sqeezing her wee belly i'll just have to wait on the vet to check her out i'll take pics of her belly and post them later and you can tell me what you think if that's ok

well whatdo you think her nipples def look bigger now i felt her tummy and i can feel a lump but only 1 and i really dont know what i'm doin :confused:

Never, never gentle squeeze the mothers belly, you can cause premature placenta seperation. Best to take your girl in for a vet exam.

i never squeezed just very gently felt again i would'nt as i said i dont know what i'm going i'm gonna make an appointment for the vet for naxt week just to get her a general check up and make sure she's doin ok i will be muh happier when the vet tells me she's ok thanks for replying:thumbup:

obviously you are very experienced in torkie's abd breeding i would apprediate it if you could have a qick look at maggie's belly pic posted earlier and let me know what you think thanks, Adrianne x
