I hope you little girl does not have any problems. I did not realize she was so small. Has she been eating okay? |
so the lady was right, i thought it was kinda funny i didnt know what to belive on the akc thingy, but i didnt care, i felt lucky to have his puppies. ive allready changed it. yes shes eating good. and i am very worried about her. i was thinking if the male was half her size it would be fine. but i wasnt thinking about the size of her belly, just the size of the puppies coming out of her, being able to puch them out. i called the breeder i got her from and her mom had anywhere from 5-7 pups a litter. thats way im feeling them all up in her gut and kicking and moving where they shouldnt. but she dosent seem unhealthy or unhappy. excpect the days i thought she was in labor, temp down and labored breath. i think they are pushing up agenst her lungs. but then she seems fine when ever i want to take her to the vet. do you think i should take her in? |
I would not take her in just yet. Keep a close eye on her temperature and also make sure she is not having any greenish or brown discharge. I hope she has them before the weekend. Do you have a vet on call for emergencies? |
i have a vet but he isnt on call so i have to go to the emergency room, its costly, but i dont care, ive taken out so many loans for her. when i first got her her eye had been damaged from a kennel, it cost me over 1000+ but she is my baby. when she went to the stud for the week i couldnt sleep a week and was so upset, come to find she was ok the whole time. but i guess ill just keep a close eye on her. |

One thing I noticed on your website is that you are going to sell the pups at 8 weeks. I strongly suggest that you wait until the pups are at 12 weeks since these will probably be very tiny pups. It takes the little ones a little longer to get weaned and you would not want to start their shots until they are 8 weeks or older. The weaning process is harder on the tiny ones and they are more prone to hypoglycemia so they definitely would need to be kept longer. Personally I would never sell a tiny pup unless it was at least 12 weeks old. |
oh, lol i guess i better clear that up. i dont give my puppies to teh adoptee till 12 weeks. its in my FAQ's the 8 week thing is i ment i wont take deposits till 8 weeks, becase of the size. thanks for bringing that up. |

good luck with the delivery and your new litter of furbabies. |
No luck yet, :( Im starting to wonder if my teddy may have gotten to her. is that possable? he is 12 pounds??? i dont think he could fit in her. but she was locked up in my room till day 20, so im pretty sure she was done with her heat. i think im going a little crazy now. will if she dosent have them by sunday im taking her to my vet monday morning. |
Even though Teddy is 12lbs, he could still get her if he had the chance. I know that my little boy didn't take 5 seconds, and Ellie was immediately pregnant. I know that the waiting is tough. Are you still feeling the puppies move around? Did you get the exact date from the breeder? How is her temperature? I would say that if she's not in any distress, not to worry. If she does go into labor, but no contractions or too long of pushing get to your vet immediately. You could always call your vet and see what they have to say over the phone. |
she was bred on june 4th 6th and 7th so it can take up to sunday/monday but shouldnt take any longer then that. if there is a possablity rover got her she wouldnt be due till the 18th or so. and with her milk dropped and her tempture fluxauting my vet dosent think thats the case. he thinks i need to relax, like you he says as long as the pups are moving and she seems fine not to worry till monday then i can take her in. i think he is getting tired of my calls and vists, im not allowed to come to monday now. unless shes in pain, or any of the other warning signs he gave me. but thats good, he is a good guy, an ultrasound is over 300.00 and he wouldnt let me have one till he thought she would need it. most vets will just take your money. he also takes strays and finds them homes. |
It sounds like he is a good vet. I just found one that I trust so I know how frustrating it can be. Ultrasounds are not that expensive here, I too have a litter that I am waiting on for my Shih-Tzu. She had a c-section last time, so I pray that everything goes right this time. I can only hope and pray. I am trying to do everything different this time. Hang in there. Keep us up to date. She will probably wait until this weekend. Remember that they can sense your emotions and can hold thier labor back too. Remember the old saying a watched pot never boils. Relax, which will then make her relax, and then things might start to happen. |
Just checking to see how Katie and her momma are doing today? Hope everything is ok. |
How is Katie doing? I hope everything is okay. |
she never had them and the last two days seems fine. im afraid my teddy got her on the 20th day. i just didn't think it was possable. but its day 65 i think and no puppies. i hope shes ok, im taking her to the vet tuesday |
oh there still moving and stuff. i had planned on doing a teddy yorkie mix but from a yorkie sire to teddy female. i hope she dosent need a c-section. |

ok she had her babies. she had four but for some reason she was having them butt first, and the second one was big, i didnt understand how to get her out and she was half way to long by the time i realized you can lift the privet and slowly slip the legs out the lift it again and the head pops out, it was too late. but the last puppy when got stuck i knew what to do and saved her. yorkies are nonething like teddys in labor. so anyways she had three that lived and one died. she had a boy who should be about 5 1/2 pounds full grown, and a girl about 5 pounds full grown, then another girl that well be about 2 1/2 to 3 pounds full grown, by the chart so far. my son is keeping the big girl and my sister wants the tiny girl. im going to sale the boy. so if anyone has any advise with the micro i would love to hear it, she seems just as active and healthy as the others, but ive heard you have to keep them longer, so i want to know what else i need to know for her. also im thinking the boy im going to sell for 750 he'll come with life time support a year contract, doc tail and dew claws and all his shots, a cd with his weekly photos and a video, and a out fit plus apr registration. do you think thats good? let me know. thanks guys for all your help! |
Congrats on the babies. I'm sorry that you lost one. I think that's a good price and that you are being responsible. I'm happy for you and can't wait to see pics. |
thanks, i wasnt sure how to price them, i know micros go for around 2500 or more but im not in it for the money, i just want to make sure i get covered for all the vet bills and shots. and that the adoptee can cover vet bills and such later. plus he is kinda big should almost be 5 pounds. thanks for all your help, i cant wait to show you them |
Just keep in mind that the chart is just a guide. Mine ended up being a little bigger than the chart. I had one that was rather big, and he nows weighs around 8lbs. No one wanted him because he was larger, I even reduced the price to $600. However, my son helped me so much with the litter, that I ended up letting him have the puppy. He's such a good dog too. He's now 5 months old, neutered and very happy. |
the dad was 2.5 and mom 4.6 but moms, mom was 5.7 so by bloodline the biggest is 5.7 but theres allways a chance he could be the heffer of the family line, so im thinking the biggest would be 6 pounds. on my site ill put the weight by chart on my weekly updates i do photos and video every week with developments updates and ill also put the information about the background and that he could end up weighing more. also if he dosent sell by 8 weeks (by deposit) ill lower his price, i don't mind really. |
My female was 5.5lbs and my male is 3.5lbs. and he still ended up being very large - not in our lines either. I'm glad to see that you are putting such a big amount of information on your website. I will have to check it out. I don't have a website, but have thought about making one. I can't wait to see the pics. |
Congratulations! Did she have them overnight? How is the momma? I'm so sorry one of them didn't make it. |
she had them between 230 and 530 this morning. for some reason when ever i dont catch the labor of one of my dogs, they lay on my head and start pushing! my shichons do the same thing. if i pass out or dont catch them. and have there pups right on my bed! ive whelped 3 litters so far on my bed, crazy dogs! |

Congrats! I'm sorry about the one that died. I'm nervous about that too, because Roxie only has a single pup and it is breech! 8 more days.. but anyway, I am glad to hear the other 3 are doing well. Post a few pics when you have time! :) |
