The forever labor ........ last night katie wouldnt sleep with me, so i put her in a large kennel i bought for her litter when tiny. but right becide my bed. ( i made a bed on the floor ive been sleeping in so i could sleep by the kennel and help whelp her. my teddybear tends to whelp on my bed...) anyways all night she just dug around. i knew something wasnt right becase she allways is by me, she sleeps right agenst my face. this morning her temp was 98 on the dot. and the same late afternoon, all day she seems to have a bit of labored breath, and wants to poop alot. she sometimes pant. but no pushing yet. its almost 8pm here. do you think i should stay up, or should she be ok for the night? sometimes shell get up and look fine, its soo confusing. nonething at all like the teddy bear. |
I just went through which seemed like a long labor with my Gina. She started Saturday night digging and panting and all day Sunday same thing. She had her first pup Sunday night at 11:40am and continued until 4 in the morning (6 puppies) From what I understand first stage Labor can go on for 24 hours. My guess is that she will have them over night. Does she seem restless and want you near her all the time? I'm no expert but just my experience of what I have been through with my girl. Maybe some of the experience breeders can help you more. Good Luck! |
she allways wants me by her. but yes she dose seem to need me by her right now. and she keeps tring to sneek under my bed. she is pooping a lot like every 15 minutes. this is her first litter too. so i think she is pooping when she thinks she may want to push im not sure, but i thinkg your right, im going to stay up with her. thanks a bunch |
It sounds to me like she is in labor. As the pups move through the birth canal it does put pressure on the colon and it makes them want to poop. If I were you I would definitely stay up with her tonight. Best of luck. |
ok great, i sleep right next to her anyways, my head is right next to the kennel, im a really attached mommy. but i would never want to miss a litter being born, when my first litter was born a shichon, one of the babes had a cord wrapped around its neck, we cut it off, but right then i knew you had to be right by them. ive only been through 3 teddy bear litters, but they never put me through so much as my yorkie is. thanks for letting me know:thumbup: your awesome:animal-pa |

nope no puppies i dont get it she seems fine now. her temp did drop though, my teddys allways had them when the temp dropped. i guess with my yorkie ill just have to keep an eye on her. she vis 63 days but she up and running around like nonething happend |

ok, here she go's again! dang! this time shes panting alot and wont stop biting her but and back, you know the itchy bites. plus she wont let me leave her for a second |

dang it she went to sleep! she did this to at day 56 drop temp and signs of early labor laying labored breath ex. then got better thank god. then again yester day but then she was at day 63 now 64 comes and she pants a bit. and itchs her self for like an HOUR. then..... gos to sleep! ahhhhh! dang baby! shes driving me crasy! i dont know reather to stay up or just sleep with her. dosent matter though i wont get any sleep anyways ill be waking up every five minutes and lifting my head to check her. here i go again. i hopes she has them soon, her belly is huge and there moving up into her lungs, i feel like there almost up to her little heart. im starting to worry about her. she is packed with puppies. i wonder how much shes going to have i thought they only had 2-3 puppies but i can feel way more then that in her there all over the place. |
I hope that everything goes well. My Ellie was full of puppies too. I didn't think she was ever going to happen. I am not a patient person, but she took full advantage of my last nerve. Did you have any puppies last night? |
Really how cool! no she didnt have them, its day 65 but i guess it could be up to 70 then i have to take her in to the vet. she seems normal, just panting every now and then and she bites her but and back alot, i guess it could be the skin streching like our bellys when we are expecting. so how far along is your baby? once my babies are boarn ill be putting them on my teddy bear site and youll be able to see them. i have a few teddys and my parents so we breed them, just the one yorkie though. im thinking i need to get ahold of the stud lady and find out all the tie dates, becase she is getting pretty far into her pregency. |
Good luck, I hope she delivers soon! Maybe tonight will be the lucky night :) Oh and what are teddy bears? I've heard the term before but I don't know what cross. |
Teddy bears isn't a different type of yorkie, it just describes how their face looks. Some yorkies have a rounded teddy bear looking face, others have longer looking faces. |
oh, i thought i posted this already, it must havent gone through. no its a breed, but people use it name to discripe looks too. me and my parents each have two teddys we breed to sell them, the information is on www.fuzzypuppylove.com then i have the one yorkie. we dont breed for the money though, youll see most of it go's to other stuff, i just get some, i use for kids clothes and stuff. my real job is a web designer. and as you can see if you search teddy bear puppies, im good at rank and design, so i help home breeders with there sites free, i am very anti cage. so i only like the ranch style breeders or indoor pet breeders. and do my best to fight a good fight, by helping what i belive in and not expressing the negitive side. but anyways i help people with walking them through online marketing and design, and if nessary will do some work my self for them. |

yes its rambo, but the lady who studed my dog wont let me post his nome or photo on my site something about people being wierd becase my dog is registered apr and hers is akc and for some reason your not supposed to breed akc with an apr dog. i was just happy to be able to breed her with that size of yorkie. and as for the website thing i could help walk you through a tamplate site for free that you could design. or i could design one for you www.enoxxdesign.com has the information. |

did you want to stud one of your dogs? i can ask if i can give you her information, i dont want to get introuble though, i think there breeding is supposed to be a secret except to thoughs who get the paperwork of course. |
