| puppies eyes I have a question, I called my vet and I believe they gave me the wrong information. I am wondering how old a puppy is when their eye's open. Everything I find online tells me 14 to 18 days, or 2 to 5 weeks. My Vet Tech said 3 to 5 days, I think she is wrong. Can somebody please let me know, and also when should I start to be concerned if they don't open. They were born July 7th and otherwise seemed to be very heatlhy, they have both (one male, one female) are more than doubled their weight and are working on tripling. thank you, Shannon

| Don't worry, your puppies eyes will be opening any day now Your vet tech is mistaken about the 3 to 5 days, way too early. |

| The average age for my puppies eyes to open is 2 weeks... some have gone close to 3 weeks. Your vet tech was way off.....she may have misunderstood the question.

| I thought she may have but I kept repeating, 14 to 18 days, and the tech kept saying 3 to 5 days. Anyway, I just checked and the boys eyes are open. YAY!! so I am sure the girls will open soon. thank you

| Perhaps she was confused on tail docking and dew claw removal because those are the days when they are done?? Ours open around 2 weeks Congrates on the lil boys eyes open! In case you don't know it is normal for them to be a little blueish looking for a while after they first open

| I have noticed the fatter puppies take a lil longer. LOL I wouldnt be worried - I have never had a pup not open it's eyes. I guess I would start to worry if its three weeks old and not even peeking a little bit.

| Just to assure you ... you have already many great answers... Our puppies usually open their eyes between 2 and 3 weeks... some sooner others later. We take them to the vets to dock tails and dewclaws removal at 2 days of age... latest 3 days. If for any reason that may not be possible we do it ourselves , but the best is to have it done at the vets and that is what we 90% of the time. Good Luck in your litter !!!!! PS.: Post pictures so we can say : AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!
