For what? Defending myself? Calling a situation pathetic? Calling byb's wannabe? Hmmmm....Okey Dokey Smokey. Anyway...I've said my peace. Since no proof has been given, I rest my case. I never sold this person a dog. She needs to take it up with the breeder. Although, I don't really see what she needs to take up? She bought a puppy she claims was vicious at only 6 months old. That just doesn't make any sense - no matter whom the puppy came from. She says her puppy caught Parvo. (a lot of animals have caught Parvo). I just don't see how that is any breeders problem. She says that she had her dog spayed and did not provide proof to her breeder. She says she never got her papers although in order to get them she needed to provide proof. It is just WEIRD!!!! |

I sold him to someone who broke my contract. He was bred to an unethical person and his get (or at least one of his get) ended up in a very less than desirable place. It still saddens me. |

P.S. He was sold as a show dog and is a Champion. |

is he still living and is he a Canadian Champion? i would love to see pictures of him. |
What saddens me the most is not the name calling. Its the fact that everytime a chance to bash a reputable breeder comes up, it is done with such glee. People come out of the woodwork to try to dig up dirt on that reputable breeder. Its almost like a jealous thing. Everybody on this forum HATES BYBERS AND MILLS AND UNREPTUABLE BREEDERS and then you crap on the very people/breeders that do their very best to breed the very best Yorkies. And you wonder why we have strict contracts. |

When my mother got cancer last year and my 29 year old cousin died suddenly, I decided that there were FAR more important things in life than the drama that comes along with breeding dogs. I stand 100% behind all my dogs and have ethics beyond reproach. If, for some reason, someone has a problem with me, all they'd need to do is contact me and I would help in any way I could. How can I be blamed for something I don't know about? That being said, I deal with honestly. I don't like liars and do not lie myself. The world is full of less than reputable people in every walk of life - dogs and dog shows are no different. I do know what you mean about some people bashing a breeder but this is a whole 'nother thing. |

I have at least 10 buyers for every puppy I produces, which makes me very blessed in being able to find the very best homes for my puppies. Have I made mistakes in choosing a home...sure...I'm sure all breeders have. But, I've always, but ALWAYS stood behind my dogs. I really think that most reputable and ethical show breeders such as myself would consider this a hobby. Am I a pro at the breed - yes...but not a pro at being a breed-ER!! |

Please never order a puppy, find a breeder that is close so you can drive and see the puppies, adults, the way they are raised. You need to read on this site about the very sick puppies people has gotten from ordering off line. You could be ordering from a broker or puppy mill. |

I always tell people this and I think have shipped like 2 or 3 puppies in my life. Also, visit Yorkshire Terrier Club of America to find a reputable breeder in your area...They list breeders in most if not all States. |

The bottom line is that it is easy for anyone to come on here and bash someone else and call their ethics into question whether they know them or not. I am sure some people may be interested in the truth but there are some that simply go from drama to drama trying to point fingers and inflame the list. People jump to conclusions without ever knowing the people involved at all. If one statement is made, many take it as gospel. When the person that is attacked comes on to defend themselves and set the record straight, it becomes a witch hunt and everyone assumes that you are guilty until proven innocent. I experienced this myself recently without any provocation at all. Prior to that I was rarely on this forum. Since that time I have been monitoring the forum and I see this same pattern time after time. IMO, there needs to be more respect shown both ways and if you have a problem, at least try to resolve it privately before coming on here |
The statement below is very true. I also don't come to this forum often....but when I do there is usually a "breeder bashing" happening. I've watch some terrible things being said about outstanding breeders....including the one in this thread today. It's almost like a gang attack with more and more members piling on. I did a quick survey of the posts in the "breeder talk" section of this forum. It is astounding to note that almost any thread with anything over 50 replies and normally around 3,000 to 5,000 views is a thread about a breeder. Any other topics which to me seem worthy because someone is usually in trouble and asking for help for their bitch or puppies seems to demand little to no attention. This to me is proof that the bashing of breeders is far more attractive to most members who post on this forum. It also has come to my mind that some of the posts on this forum could be construed as slander and therefore I can see a lawsuit happening very easily. I still do not understand why the members feel the need to attack their fellow Yorkie lover with such vengence. It is appalling. One more thing the members of this forum should understand that many breeders are watching and I can assure you.....you would not qualify for a puppy from such breeders. The fact that many members can so easily attack surely is a scary thought to most breeders.....good and bad. JMHO Quote:

I tried to post earlier, but was having computer problems. I do not know Debbie personally. I do know that she is very kind and caring. She loves her yorkies very deeply and puts their needs always above her own. I do not blame her for getting upset. |

With regard to this particular breeder, I would think that after 25 years, you would learned to deal with complaints about your breeding program, valid or not. It is also when you are being attacked that it is MOST important to show some class and professionalism. HOWEVER, back to the question of the spay/neuter contract, I strongly support these, and absolutely believe all reputable breeders should sell under those terms. Lorraine explained in one of the first posts about putting the $5K amount in to qualify it for small claims court if necessary. So even in threads like this, some educational stuff comes up. |
To the op- what were your questions again lol |

I feel in some way I must apologize. :( I just asked about one post to find out what anyone felt was wrong with the puppy contract. It was very similar to the one I signed for my puppy, but with the different registry had a few things I hadn\'t dealt with. I really did not mean to open a can of worms, night-crawlers at that. I ask questions because I don\'t think there are any stupid questions, just unanswered ones. I want to learn about yorkies, showing, breeding, THE STANDARD, what ever I can because I fell in love with my little girl. I agree that there is WAY too much "bashing" done on this board. It is mind boggling somewhat. I can understand both sides. 1. A PM might be a better start. 2. Name calling is just unacceptable, unprofessional and it shows to us newbies. I\'m not totally put off YT yet. I can see how posts could chase off a newbie, but I want to learn. So I think I\'ll go read something happier. Dion |
