It can be, however, each girl is different. Remember just as in humans, what is first produced is colostrum.....

And as I always say all you can depend on these yorkies, is that they'll make a liar out of you every time.

Not true, I had a female once that was full of milk a week before delivery. Many females will get milk several days before delivery and then others will have no milk at all until after the pups are born.

We were able to express milk several weeks before they were born. It wasn't dripping out, and she was't full, but we checked to see if it was there, and we were able to express some on May 18th, and they were born at 59 days on June 13th. :cool:

LOL, so true! Apparently, niether mama or our puppies read the book!

Besides pregnancy and delivery, they have all broken all the 'rules!':rolleyes:

I agree Shyloh's due any minute now and I have been on puppy watch since last Tuesday and I could express milk for over a week. They are all so different....:rolleyes:

DANG!!! :rolleyes: Funny how we look for ANY little sign to say this is it!! I was up since 2:50 am when Bella coughed and I just new labor was starting! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :D:D She went right back to sleep and snoozed comfortably next to daddy while I laid on the edge of the bed wide awake starring at her every movement until I had to go to work. (Bella is with big brother or daddy while I work). Hmmmmmm soooo we wait....which is why these are puppy watches and why I am here chatting. My family all thinks I lost my marbles with Bella. :confused: Thanks for the support!!!! Oh

Wait till you start missing, weddings, Christmas dinners, etc because your girl is due to whelp or has whelped and you can't leave puppies alone.

I have totally enjoyed Bella's pregnancy! It has been a wonderful experience so far but this will be her first and last whelp as she is not AKC registered. I have the time and the resources so I eventually would like to find a good mentor and do this all the right way with AKC registered Yorkies but until then.......I have this experience to enjoy with my Bella Mia:D

I am glad you are doing your homework and you have support and help here.
Yorkies can be so individual, you can not expect for the same general signs...
The fact that she wants to go under the bed is a "nesting" sign for good.
She may not be very happy with her whelping box or , which is more likely, she has no clue what the whelping box is for since it is her first time !!!

you are on the good start. If i can be of any help you can privately message and we can exchange phone numbers....

the temperature going back and forth is also normal and also a sign that the labor is very near. her temperature will drop to 98 eventually ... then it is really happening !!!
