I beleive it, I breed silky terriers and when I took my girl to a reproduction vet to get a few tests done, the person conducting the test told me that some breeders were breeding silky girls to Yorkie studs so they could get more puppies per breeding, I thought it was crazy, but that is what GREED does to our beloved breeds. and then they are registering the pups as pure breed yorkshire terriers and some others were registered as silky terriers, and the lines have been cross over and over... that is why now the Responsible breeders DO NOT breed unless DNA testing have been done to both, stud and Dam. And maybe you should explained better, but you did say you were planing on breeding a 3-4 pound girl.. :( hugs, Carmen in nj |

We searched for a suitable female and found a few to choose from. When we called the customer line to select our female, the gentleman said that he knew this particular breeder and would call her to get the specs on the pup. After speaking to her, he said that she recomended another pup instead of the one we selected. We looked over her selection and since we want to breed her at least 1 time, we took her recomendation. Her description says that her dad's weight - 3-3 1/2 lbs mom's weight- 5-6 lbs We were also told that as of the timeof our call, this pup weighes 1lb 13oz and her weight will be around 3-4 lbs. As stated, we went on her recomendation. She looked at the male that we purchased and selected her for him. Oh and I failed to mention that my brother is a VET. |

ps - the mill was Brushy Creek Kennels in Hockley tx - They had alot of sites and shipped dogs all over the place (I didn't know all this till AFTER I visited) so I feel for you that you were misled - but it's a good warning to others about who you deal with |

No matter what you wanted to breed~you DO NOT pick a couple of puppies off line, have them shipped to you and then decide that you want to become a breeder  There are members of this board that are long time established and reputable breeders. Do you think they purchased their dogs this way? My god~this is the reason that there are so many poorly bred Yorkies! You knew nothing about either of these puppies so why would you even begin to "think" this was the way to start adding to the dog population? :( |

A reporter from Fox news ended up joining because of all the people who were sold sick dogs :( They did 3 segments that aired on the news and the feedback was so huge that Inside Edition picked it up - which clinched it about the bait and switch with online selling of dogs (this place sold multiple breeds but on DIFFERENT Websites so if you were searching yorkies - only their yorkie site came up) .... I haven't googled them in a long time - but you can type Brushy Creek right here and see the huge threads about them and the reporters name was David - he was fantastic ! He updated me all the time and posted here for quite a while..... |

Well said . . . what surprises me the most is not even knowing what you are getting and just going by another person's word that this puppy was your best match? I'm really confused . . .did you do any research at all when you buy things (not just puppies) or do you just go by what other people say? |
At least I can sleep in my bed and not just Lie in it! |
