Hit 60 days at 12:00 am.....Shyloh is restless. Obviously so am I, still up. Temp was 99.3 this morning, it was back up to 100.3 this evening. So maybe we still have a wait......I'm so excited. Xray showed only one puppy....but this is our first for Shyloh and Me. So it's a good thing!!:D:D:D

Thanks, I can't sleep.....listening for any sound from my girl. She's right by my bed.....Do they cry or wimper when labor begins??

Not usually, kandie had her first one while jim and I were both in different rooms on computer and did not know until we heard a baby cry... it was day 59 and not signs at all... we both ran to the bedroom.. and she was in her whelping box.. it was her first litter...when I say we all ran.. the other furbutts got there qicker then us.. I was shocked she did not show any signs..
Maravilhosa last December slept in my arms on her back.. in the am a sack was out when i woke/.. her still in my arms.. laying on her back...

~One of my girls cried with her first litter and another one didn't make a sound. So it can go either way. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Be careful, a singleton puppy can be big, since they get all of that room to grow, and all of the nutrients. You may need to help pull or have the Vet on standby. Wishing you a safe, easy and happy whelp!

They can whimper but usually don't. I have only one that whines and one that barks to wake me up. You will hear the constant digging in the bedding for nesting that almost all of them do.

I love the puppy watches too!! Good luck with your mommy and new furbaby to be!! Will be looking for the good news;)

well no puppy yet....temp was 98 this morning but went up at about 2pm to 100.1. She is laying with me in my bed right now. Still no other signs. The little rascal.....The Vet said the head looked small so hopefully it comes with little help from me. I have my whelping kit prepared. Shyloh looks at it all like that better not be for me.....She is getting a little tired of taking the temp, so I'm trying to give her some time. I can see the pup moving around a lot. She has really slowed down eating now. She won't touch the dry food, she did eat some canned Fosters and smith, but she has not had any water at all. That worries me. But she is right beside me, I will not leave her side now. I'll keep posts coming.......can't wait for our one glorious, golden pup!!!:aimeeyork

Good advice... My vet is awaiting our call. Xray showed the head should fit through the pelvis. Shyloh's appetite concerns me. I think she may have lost weight, I can feel her ribs a bit more. This is our first so I'm just learning. I have my breeder who has helped me on call 24/7. She is wonderful. She has prepared me well. Now I wait!!!!!:)

Are you giving her any Nutri-cal? If she is not eating, her blood sugar could be getting low and that will cause her to run a lower temperature. A little Nutri-cal might help perk her up and help her appetite.

I'll give her some right now....I am really concerned. Should i give her more canned food. I worried it may give her diarrea. She gets some everyday but not that much.

If she will eat canned food then let her have some. Maybe you can grind up some dry food to add to the canned food and make her some dog food meat balls.

Good idea, I just don't want her to be uncomfortable. If she gets loose stools and it sticks to her tail she won't walk until I get it off.:rolleyes: Good habit but it can be a mess. I want to make this easy for her. I'll go make some meatballs now! Thanks

Is her coat very long? I always cut the hair short on their rear end and the back legs or it will get really messy when the pups come. You want to make sure the coat is not too long or the pups could get tangled in the coat.

:animal36:D:DI want my puppy, Okay so I'm just a little cranky. Up most of last night in anticipation of the "One glorious , golden puppy" and nothing. All the signs she had just stopped and well she slept while I laid there listening to every peep from her. I'm completely exhausted, but I adore my girl and I'm here. Even if it means another sleepless night. Guess that's what us Yorkie lover's do....They have us completely wrapped. She slept in my bed right beside me, the hubby was in another room. I think he is going to have to move in there...LOL I'll keep you all post....meanwhile maternity ward stays open!!!:animal36

Sometimes these puppy watches can drag on for days and get very stressful. I hope she has her baby soon. How many times was she bred? What do you mean by 'golden' puppy....just curious.

I drove 4 hours to get to the Stud here in Texas. He is incredible, his pedigree is in my photo album. He is "Joymason Dream Edition", awesome pedigree. 91 champions....I drove down on April 24 and spent the night in a hotel. So we attempted that Friday and Saturday with only one successful tie on Saturday. This is my first time to breed Shyloh and my breeder Mary has years of experience. I just got off the phone with her. She is awaiting my call. The "One glorious, golden puppy" phrase is just a joke between my husband and me. He has been moved to the spare bedroom and Shyloh has taken his spot. So he jokes about me and my baby and this golden puppy. I believe he thinks I love them more than him,LOL. We also had hoped for at least 2 because I have no idea how I can deal with letting this puppy go. I watch it in her belly rolling around and I love it already. So it's our golden baby, it does not refer to the color. This pups Dam and Sire both have dark steal blue coat. You can see Shyloh in my photo album. Beautiful straight line and awesome coat. I also have a show potential male, he is 4 1/2 months old now. He is out of this same stud "Joymason". Still no labor yet, this is 61 days so.........I wait.

Just checked temp, it was 98.3. It is down from this morning. It was 100.3 at 10am.....I'm so ready....Poor baby. I know she is........

I see what you mean by 'golden' yorkie. Your yorkies are very pretty. I love your male puppy. Do you plan on showing him? I know you are excited about the upcoming birth. Are you hoping for a boy or a girl? Hopefully you will get you a nice show baby.

Hopefully she will be having the pup soon. Her temperature is awfully low so maybe it will be sometime tonight or in the morning. It looks like another sleepless night for you. :)

Thank you, us momma's always think we have pretty babies. Yes I hope to get Stryker, my 4 1/2 month old male, evaluated soon. There is a handler in Oklahoma I want to get to work with him and get him in some conformation classes. My breeder and I waited along time for a show prospect from the Dam and Sire that he came from. He is already stacking for me, but I am limited as far as what I know. So after I have this pup I plan on getting him going.

As far as male or female for this pup due to whelp....Just a healthly pup and Mom. I'm so nervous. But I am definately looking for a show prospect. I also looked for a long time for the line that I like. This pups Sire is beautiful. I think I'll post his photo beside his pedigree. Check it out....His name is Taz (Joymason's Dream Edition).

Are you going to try to go to the Houston shows in July? I hope I can go to watch at least one day. It is always lots of fun.

I know about one in August, but if there one in July I will definately be there. Where is it at? I did try to download the Sire of this pup and Stryker, BUT obviously I'm a computer dummy and don't know how to resize it. AHHHG I hate computers.....

The shows in Houston are July 17 through July 19. Those are the shows that are held at the Reliant Center at Reliant Park (it used to be call the Astro Hall) These are the biggest shows for our area. There are lots and lots of vendors there. Those shows don't close for another week or so.

The shows in August are the Yorkshire Terrier Specialty and the Toy Club shows. I am looking forward to those.
