Ok, I will just tell ya since it's not really fair because of the poor quality of the picture.

Livi is going to have................


3!!! I am thrilled because this is a perfect sized litter! If you look at the picture, there is one with its head down, close to her hootchie area, getting ready to greet the world. There's one going all the way across her tummy...head close to Livi's spine. If you look closely, you can actually see the middle one's knees bent. Puppy three's spine runs along the base of her tummy.

Here is my concern...her doctor said that they are looking pretty big. He specifically said that he wants to give a chance to try on her own, though. I asked if we should be concerned about their size and he said, "Not yet."

Yay, I was right! I could clearly see that there are 3 in there, just wondered if there were others hiding :rolleyes:

Hmmm, I don't know what to think about what her vet said....."looking pretty big". I'd prefer a "they're too big...better do a c-section or they look a great size, should be no problems. The iffy stuff would make me more nervous. How much does Livi weigh? I'll keep my fingers crossed while I watch for the whelp and hope and pray for a safe, successful, natural whelp of Livi's 3 beautiful babies.

I see 3 clearly but it looked like there was maybe a 4th, so are there three? (you know my next guess will be five) ;)

I know...I am even more nervous now. :( Livi's starting weight was a couple ounces shy of 5 and a half pounds and now she is 7lbs. :eek: She hasn't been eating well lately so all weight gain is pure puppy. I was VERY surprised when he and his tech said how big they look because Livi isn't big and Huckleberry is only 4 and a half pounds. Huck comes from very tiny lines and Livi's parents are around her size. I just hope that she doesn't have any problems.

Ya know, Sue, my hubby swears that he sees a 4th spine right behind puppy #1....but I *think* it is just a shadow...but who knows.

Well, I am getting anxious for them to get here. Did the vet say how much longer he thought she would go?

No, he said for me to call back and tell him the days that she was bred on and I did, but his front counter girl just told me what her opinion was. I am such a push-over that I didn't force the issue of asking the doctor myself. :( Livi, size wise, looks ready but she has not shown any of the tell-tale signs...no nesting...she is eating right now and her temp is 99.5. I am hoping that she will have them sooner than later because of their size. :(

He said that puppy #1 is already in the heads down position and "all ready to go".....doesn't this sound like she will deliver soon?

Oh, and she is running around, playing with her favorite toy...she is full of spunk still. In fact, she just got though eating really well and is presently squeaking her fave toy.

Here she is earlier today. Please excuse her mommy's poor grooming abilities. :rolleyes: It is blurry because just as I started to take it, she heard "daddy" talking in the other room...she hears him and it's like, "Oh yeah, I must be with him!!" Such a daddy's girl! :)

The puppies usually drop a few days before they are delivered so you could still have a few days to go.

No, she has not had pups before. She has two babies. One of them was breech a few days ago, but looks to be moving around quiete a bit. It looked a little diagonal earlier today, so maybe it's trying to turn???

She will be 59 days tomorrow, and since yesterday morning, she has barely eaten. She is in her box, panting and shaking a bit.

I know the range is 59 days, but is the earlier part of the range too early?

You wouldn't think I've had 5 of my own kiddos, with our nervous I am ! :p

It is not necessarily too early. She could very well be in labor. Please watch her closely. It could be very dangerous for her having puppies for the first time at her age.

Have you been taking her temperature....this will give you an idea of when to expect babies.
