A pre congratulations to you and your mommy to be! It sure does sound like she could be in an early stage of labor; lack of appetite, panting, and shivering are all signs. Good luck, I'll be watching for updates.

Yes, I have been taking it since last Sunday. It's really weird though: I bought a brand new digital thermometer, and since last Sunday her temp has ranged from 98-99.7. I mentioned it to the vet this week, and he just asked if I had put the thermometer deep enough. I said I had, and he didn't say anything after that except for that it just might be her normal temp.

Today at noon it was 98 and at 8:30 tonight it was 98.9, so it actually went up. She won't touch her puppy food, so I made her a scrambled egg, and one of my kids hand-fed her half of it. She wouldn't eat any more. Then she lay her head back down as if she had just had a really tough workout. I told her this was just the beginning, and she looked at me as though she understood. :rolleyes:

Yes, her age does worry me. We have planned our weekend around her, we are not leaving her alone.;)

3!!! I am thrilled because this is a perfect sized litter! If you look at the picture, there is one with its head down, close to her hootchie area, getting ready to greet the world. There's one going all the way across her tummy...head close to Livi's spine. If you look closely, you can actually see the middle one's knees bent. Puppy three's spine runs along the base of her tummy.

Here is my concern...her doctor said that they are looking pretty big. He specifically said that he wants to give a chance to try on her own, though. I asked if we should be concerned about their size and he said, "Not yet."

I see 3 but i am going to enhance the photo to see if there is a 4th. But I expect just the 3, Cant wait to see the little boogers

Livi just now started having a little bit of diarrhea and lost what I can only explain as her mucous plug...but I can't say for that is what it is. But what else could it be? :confused:

Can't imagine what else it could be at this point! But Zoe lost hers on I believe Wed - she delivered on Mon. But it sounds like it will be soon. And Zoe had some diarrhea as well the last few days.

So I guess we could be looking at next week before she has them?? I took her temp at 6:45 this morning and it was 98.8 and just now it was 100.6.

Hi Barbara,

I hadn't updated because I was hoping that I would have more progress to tell you guys, but I really don't. Livi is still hangin' on and those babies are being so shy about coming out. ;) I am super tired (and the excitement has not even begun)...my hubby and I are at night cleaning up after her...her little tummy has been upset. Her temp has stayed around 99.1-99.3 but the last time that I took it today, it had dropped to 98.8. So maybe, just maybe, we are heading in the right direction. :confused: The babies are still very active and she hasn't done any sort of digging/nesting and no contractions, as of yet. I am getting worried as each day goes on because her vet said last Friday that they already look big.

I will keep you posted of any changes. Thanks so much for asking about her! :)

Well, so much for the 98.8...I just took it again and she is back at 99.3.

Thanks for the update. It sounds like momma is taking her time. As for the temperature, you can't really depend on that. I have had them go into labor when their temperature was 100. I bet she has them soon. Hang in there.

We have 3 new puppies! The digging began last night and it was an exhausting all day affair. Everyone is doing great.

Boy--5.0 ounces
Girl--4.6 ounces
Girl--4.0 ounces

Now for some much needed rest for momma and me.
