3 Attachment(s) Thanks for asking....Livi had her babies this morning. The pusking started at about 6:45 and instantly saw that she was pushing blackish green fluid. We called the vet clinic and they were waiting when my husband got there. It was a placental abruption, but believe it ir not, he made it...he was actually born on the way to the vet. They were just going to montior Livi and let her proceed with labor there. Her vet did an ultrasound and did not like their heartbeats...they were slow. He thought that it would only get worse with waiting in Livi to deliver so a c-section was what he decided to do. They delivered 2 more puppies and there was a 4th but it was under developed so it did not make it. I spent the day watching and the babies and helping them to latch on (they were tiny...two babies were 2oz. and one was 2 and a half). I started supplimenting along with helping them to latch on. Sadly, we lost our little Phoebe earlier this evening. Her lungs were not developed and he felt that these babies were early and after seeing them, I agree. It has been a very exhausting day and I still have a long ways to go to make sure that they other two make it. Tate, our carrier boy, is up from 2.5 to 2.8 and Strawberry (5 year old daughter named her) :) is up from 2oz. to 2.1 and nursing as I type (I had to help her latch on, but hey it's a start). It's not much, but I will take the extra ounces...I won't give up, I will keep trying to help these babies. I am attaching picture of them...Livi's face is sticky because she has been enjoying her Whelping Pudding. Tammy |
Tammy, congratulation on the new babies. I am so sorry for the loss of the two little ones. The babies are precious. I pray momma and babies will do well. |
Congratulations! I'm sorry about the loss of 2 of them. |
I'm sorry you lost two pups  I'll be praying that Livi heals quickly and that her 2 puppies continue to grow and thrive. |
Tammy, Congratulations on your babies!!!! I am sorry to hear you lost two puppies. Mom an pups look great, thanks for sharing pictures! |
Aww, I'm so sorry it was so difficult for all of you. I will pray that they all do well. |
Tammy, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of sweet Phoebe. I can only imagine how hard that must be to bear. I am glad the other two are gaining some and nursing. With a little help from you and nourishment from Livi, I bet they will be healthy roly poly babies before you know it. |
Aww they are so cute, So sorry you lost 2. Keeping Little Man Tate and Strawberry in my prayers. |
Mia had 5 puppies on June 5th. Three females and 2 males. The females were the biggest weighing 4.1oz, 3.4oz, 3.2oz and the boys weighed 2.3oz and 2.6oz. They turned 2 weeks old yesterday and are doing great!!! Amber my other female is due June 25th. She is getting so big! I cant wait to meet her puppies :) |
Congrats to all the new mommies! Emma had her litter on Saturday. She had 2 boys and 2 girls, but sadly, we lost one of the boys. :( Bella weighed 3.9 oz, Alice weighed 4.5 oz, and Jasper weighed 5 oz. (And yes, they are named after Twilight characters lol) |

Thank you. Yes, it was the 2.0 puppy that we lost. Molly, being a new mom, chewed down the umbilicord too far. The poor little man. I tried to get him to the vet in time but it was too late.:( The other little ones at two weeks weigh 12.2 and 13.4 now.:) |
