Well, it won't be too much longer before we know if you guys are right. ;) I do hope for a parti but it's a mystery at this point...since we bought Huckleberry on a pure guess of him being a carrier. It seems that anyone that sees her pics or her in person are guessing 4 babies. I am going against the crowd (:p ) and say that she will have 3, two girls and one boy.

I can't believe that we will have a larger fur family next week! :eek:

I'm thinking that the camera must have made her look bigger than what she appears in person...let me take another one here in a few and see what you guys think. I just weighed her and she is up to 6.9 (starting weight was 5.6/5.7). She seems to have slowed some in her growth...she was gaining like crazy with each day. Will she put on quite a bit more before she has them next week?

When is her due date and how many times was she bred. What days of her heat cycle did you breed her on? Are you feeling lots of movement? Oh, I know you are so excited. I get anxious too waiting on the mommas. I know the anticipation and stress you are going through.

Ok, here is a picture that my husband just helped me to get of her sweet baby belly. She looks smaller to me in this pic. than what she did in her last one. :confused:

I know, it's strange...she looks smaller. I just hope they are all healthy! My husband works with a couple of women that have said they are interested in a puppy, but they would both want a female. People don't always understand that boys are just as sweet. :)

Thanks Tammy, I bet she has another week or so to go so Based on how she looks now I would say 3 pups but she still has time to grow. As for looking smaller, it is possible that she absorbed some of the pups. I have had females do that before.

Livi looks even smaller this morning and she has been throwing up some. :( It was yellow and foamy...maybe she didn't eat before bed last night. :confused: (She has never thrown up before.) She is not interested in eating and I can't get her to take any Karo....suggestions?

It really is strange to see her tummy getting smaller....I feel like crying!

When is she due?

Many moms loose their appetite a few days before they deliver and my girls also will throw up - that's exactly what my girl did on June 2nd. I knew we were getting close because she's a piggy and didn't eat her breakfast that morning and she threw up too ... she delivered that evening.

Tammy I bet she does have five. One of my gals is close to that weight She weighs 6.4. Her belly is not nearly as big as your girls She has only had one litter and she had five as did her mama and all her female relatives. how many siblings did Livi have?

She's not due until next week.

:confused: All she is wanting to do is lay in the sunlight in the living room and rest....no eating, just sleeping. :(

I *think* she was in a litter of five (counting Livi) and one brother died during delivery...but I am not 100% sure of this. I could be thinking of another litter that her breeder had told me about.

Keep an eye on her, you may have to feed her some "special" foods to try to tempt her to eat or top dress her food to entice her to eat. What day are we at today? She can deliver safely at day 59, she may be one that goes early?

!!!!!!! :eek: !!!!!! I was looking at Livi just now and noticed her tummy moving kind of funny. I thought maybe just maybe it was her babies. Sure enough, I put my hands on her sides for a little while and I felt the CUTEST tapping at my hand!!!!! It is mainly on her left side...this has been where she has carried the most weight for some reason. I am so so excited to feel this!!!

Also, their tummy drops when it's almost time. She could just have puppies in the left horn and maybe one on the right. They do go off their food and they do get morning sickness even when it's close to delivery time just like humans :) What you are experiencing is normal pregnancy behavior. I'd start the temp checks morning and evenings now that she's getting close.

From her first tie, today would be 57 days. Ok, odd question for ya....is oatmeal (brown sugar flavor) bad for her? I told you, odd question. :rolleyes: My daughter decided that she would give her breakfast to Livi (because she didn't want to eat it). So apparently Livi will eat, just not her own food. Should I now worry about her eating this?

I think she should be fine as long as there were no raisins in the oatmeal?

No raisins in it...maple and brown sugar was the flavor. Since eating it, she has been running around playing with her favorite toy. I can hear her right now, in the other room, squeaking it. :)

Thanks Donna~

I had actually wondered if she was carrying more puppies on her left side....this is where I am feeling the movement, too.

I will start taking her temp tomorrow morning and then again in the evening.

Tammy, I went thru the same thing on Zoe's last few days. First she was very picky. She'd eat but I'd have to give her something really good. The last day, she wouldn't eat at all. I was really worried and even rubbed some nutrical in her mouth cause she wouldn't touch it! She did lose a few ounces as well. I know how you're feeling......

You're welcome, anytime :) Yes she may have more in the left horn than the right.
Make sure you write down the temp numbers and watch for a change and drop :)

I just took Livi's temperature...just to get an idea and to see how calm she is when I do this. It was 99.0.

Ok, I just double-checked her temp....the 99.0 is the very first rectal temp check that I have ever done (little scared that I would hurt her). Anyway, I did a better job this time with keeping her calm and her temp now reads 99.5
