I must say I have to agree with that statement. Thank goodness it all worked out and Macy is not pregnant at such a young age.

Is this your first yorkie? You seem to have a lot of questions about the breed, too many in my opinion, to begin breeding, most breeders are very knowledgeable. I hope you do extensive research on the breed and breeding in general before you make this decision.

Thom is scheduled to be fixed this friday. No more chances of mistakes.

And I am trying to do my research, and am talking to breeders in detail. But I'm only getting bashed here for trying to learn..

Glad your getting your boy nuetered. I see you're from Lewisville, TX. I lived in Colleyville until 2 years ago. If you need questions answered and really want to learn prior to breeding please PM me. You have some top show breeders in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex who would answer your questions. There is also the Bluebonnet Yorkshire Terrier Club of Dallas, which I'm still a member of. You can get their contact info via the YTCA.org pages. They have a dog show coming in September and of course their is a dog show in Denton Mother's Day Weekend. I'll be there as well as my mentor and other Show Breeders. Come and meet them and talk. They'd be willing to talk to you after the yorkies show.

Sorry if you feel like you are being bashed, it's just that the Yorkshire Terrier has become quite popular and there are too many unethical breeders jumping on the band wagon and just wanting to line their pockets. Not saying that that is what you are doing, I'm just trying to explain where everyone is coming from. You're quite new to this forum and just bought your first yorkie, when you started talking about breeding and obviously still have a lot to learn, it concerns most people here.

Mardelin is a very knowledgeable breeder and can offer great help, with someone like her helping you, you should be able to learn everything you need to know before beginning your breeding program. Good Luck.

Yea, i Pm'd her :) I am absolutely not in a rush, and would rather learn everything prior. Shes still a baby in my eyes, so i have so much time to learn, and hopefully show with her soon too :) And nope, not in it for the money. Ive read and researched how much it costs to properly breed, and raise the litter.

I was surprised to hear that Thom was a Biewer. I'm happy to hear you are going to be fixing him as he is really to big for breeding. Did you buy him for breeding? The Biewer is a distinct breed of it's own and not a Yorkie, so I'm glad you have chosen to not mix the two together.

It was nice of Mardelin to offer her assistance as a mentor. If you want more information on the Biewer the BTCA is a wealth of information and the members are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

Nope, i didn't buy him for breeding. Im gathering all my information before i even look for a breeding dog. :) The almost oops really scared me, and we arent ready for that! So here i am learning as much as i can! And yes, Mardelin has given me a ton of information to read up on. Im excited to go peek around in the dog shows, and see what its all really about :D

Thank you for your concern. I am intending on learning to show with her, then she will be spayed. :) I can not even attempt to show an altered dog. We have a long road ahead of us, but plenty of good mentors to show us the way. Im hands on type of learner. She will be spayed in due time, no worries!

Unfortunately if you don't get her ears erect...you won't be able to show her.

Yes, i know :) We are working on the ears. She can hold them up on her own, but tend to flop when shes chewing on things (shes still teething). Pics in my av are 3 months old now ;)

If they dont hold up in the next few months, its off to be spayed! :)

I am sorry but I have to ask and I really don't mean to sound rude but I have looked at lots of pictures of biewers as I would love to have one and the ones I have seen are all tri-colored. Your thor is a beautiful baby but I dont see 3 colors or maybe its just the pictures????
