Poor little Mercedes. I'm sorry you lost her, but also glad to hear she is no longer suffering. |
I'm so sorry for your loss |
Sorry to hear that you lost Mercedes. :( You fought so hard to keep her alive, you really sound like you did everything there was to do, sometimes its just better to let them go and not suffer anymore. I like that you gave her a name. Now she is more than just a puppy. She's family. |

I did weigh the litter this morning and this evening. They have all gained at least .2 oz. today. I watched them all nurse, and Ellie is still taking care of them. My husband showed her that Mercedes was dead, and she just sniffed her and looked away. I think she knew something wasn't right with her. I will be buring her tomorrow b/c the ground is frozen right now. It's going to be one of the hardest things that I have done. Keep the rest of the litter in your thoughts and prayers. I will update tomorrow after going to the vet. |
awww. I'm so sorry. I am just reading this post. You did everything you could!Hope all the other are doing good... |
Everyone else seems to be doing alright. We got their tails and dewclaws done yesterday. Vet said everyone seems to be healthy. All are gaining weight like they should. |
Thats great your babies are doing well. Im sorry you lost one. That must have been awful. |
How are your babies doing? |

Everyone is growing and getting bigger. We had to put Ellie on antibiotics this past Sunday. She got an infection. She seems to be doing better now though. The largest one weighs in at 12.1 oz. and the smalles is weighing in at 6.3 oz. It's amazing how much bigger the one is than the others. I am still holding my breath and just waiting. She's taking really good care of them though. I'm surprised at how good of a mother she really is. I thought it would have been harder since it's her first time. |
I am so sorry about your little girl, but glad the others are doing good. Its hard when you lose one, but thats the bad side of breeding, but enjoy the other babies, thats the joy of breeding. |

I know what you mean. I'm thankful that the others are doing well. They should be opening their eyes soon. I have noticed their ears are starting to open a little. I just love the little squeaks they make while I am trying to weigh them. |
hi were from pa. also havent met many from pa . on here good luck with the rest of your puppies we have new little ones also 2 boys born feb. 14th |
I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. I just went thru the exact same thing. Baby was just a day old and losing weight, not nursing. I tried the nutridrops, formula and eventually took him to the vet who showed me how to tube feed and sent me home. I was up every hour and a half and by morning it was apparent that he was failing. He passed away yesterday at 7:30 am. It sure is hard isn't it? You just want so much to save their little lives.... |
