Prego and peeing white little beads? My little girl is 53 days and recently starting passing whitish little beads....I have no idea what these would be and I have never seen anything like it??? Any help, thoughts? I am a first time breeder. Thx so much |
It is common for pregnant females to have a clear or whitish mucousy discharge when they are pregnant. As they get closer to delivery the discharge gets more noticeable. Without seeing your female I cannot say for sure this is what you are seeing but it sounds like it. |
Thx, I have read that, this isn't mucousy??? It is hard little pellets? |
That would concern me a little. Where are you seeing these white pellets, when she pees or poops or are they on her coat? |
I have seen little crystals in the urine of my very old yorkie when she was having kidney failure. It was difficult to get enough fluid in her to keep the kidneys flushed out. Is your mama drinking lots of fluids? The closer she gets to delivery the more stress on her kidneys. I'd have it looked at. |
Omg...I am going this morning to have her looked at thanks for the help |
Hope everything is okay with your little girl. Please keep us posted as to what the Vet said. :aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork:aimeeyork Welcome to yorkietalk!!! |
Update: Need some advice and support! Just back from vet xray shows 4 babies! Here is my problem the reason Roxie is passing the beeds/crystals is she has 4 LARGE kidney stones. The vet doesnt thing she will be able to give natural birth b/c of this??? From my calculations she is 54-56 days along, the vet is wanting to do a C-section this Thursday. I am afraid the pups wont be ready, he wants to do this to keep from going into labor and b/c he and every other vet in town will be gone over the w/e to a conference! Pls help....will they be ready at approx 57-59 days??? |
Did you do progesterone or LH testing so you have a firm due date or are you working off breeding dates? |
No didn't get lab work, just going by breeding date. |
The earliest for a c-section would be day 58. This is the first day the pups are fully developed. If you are off in your calculations, you may have problems with under-developed pups. |
This is a really tough call but I'd be worried this is too soon. She could make it to Monday and he should be back by they. Don't you have any emergency vets nearby? |
I know I feel the same way about it being to soon! The nearest ER Vet is about 1 1/2 hours away n Memphis. I was considering that also as a backup! Appreciate all input, I am so worried and stressed about my baby girl. |
I am so sorry your female has kidney stones. Just curious, how old is this female and how much does she weigh? I really feel that Thursday would be too early. |
Roxie is 4 1/2years old and weighed 5.5 lbs bf she got pregnant. |
Did the vet say what he could do about the kidney stones? Will she require a special diet? What kind of food was she on prior to being bred? I wish I had a better understanding of what causes the kidney stones. I am lucky none of mine have had problems with stones. |
Not to scare you but I have read a few studies linking kidney stones as indicators of liver shunts. Often, some dogs dont show any typical signs other than kidney stones. Canine Liver Shunt Has your girl had a BAT performed on her prior to breeding? I would definitely talk to your vet about this option before you do a C-section because sometimes the anesthesia is more than they can process. Crossing my fingers and wishing for the best for you and your girl. |
Im so sorry this is happening with your little female, crystals/stones can be so painful for them, I know my little male had crystal/stone surgery 2 x in 6 months. and with her being pregnant that poor girl. I dont have no advise on when she should have a c-section but wanted to say if she has stone surgery make sure they take the stones and have them tested at the lab to see what kind they are, that way they will know exactly what prescription food she will need to be on, there are different kinds for different stones so this is a must. did the vet say she will have stone surgery? if so I dont know how she would even be able to nurse her pups, she will be to weak and to sore and will have to heal first. If I was you id go out and buy nurceing bottles and puppy milk, nutri drops for the pups and the mom. you will need all this stuff after the pups are here. heating blanket too. I wish your little female the best of luck, keep us updated. |
heres a little info on stones. Stones in the urinary tract are common in dogs and cats. Even though dogs and cats do get kidney stones, it is bladder stones that causes more problems. Stones can also occur in the kidneys, where they are called nephroliths Bladder Stones |
Update on roxie Just letting u know roxie's ceckup yesterday went ok, decided to hold off on c-section! Going to monitor and try to let her go natural. She is now 58 days! Her temp this am is 99.3, and she had a thick clear jelly pass when peeing....any thoughts? |
best of luck, hope things go well |

Praying everything goes well.... |
update on roxie and question? Roxie now day 61 and this morning passes some THICK greenish brown discharge...is this normal? This a.m pups were moving slot and know no movement? |
I have read on here that green discharge usually means theres a problem |
You need to get her to the vet right away. It sounds like she has a dead puppy in her. Please keep us posted. |
Roxie I have called the vet twice and he keeps telling me to b patient....that she is going into labor! Tar is why I don't know what to do, he says give it a couple hours. She is nesting but no panting.... |
Have you taken her temperature? It is possible she is in labor but usually a green discharge means a dead puppy or a detached placenta and that could cause the puppy to die. If she is running a high temperature I would not hesitate to take her to the vet. Are you feeling any movement at all? Considering her health problems I am surprised the vet does not want to see her. I do wish you the best of luck. Please keep us posted. |
Hoping all goes well, will be checking back for updates! |
her temp a couple hours ago was 99.2, so I right with her and notice no contractions, panting, etc. Only nesting and deep sleeping at times. Yes I feel some puppy movement n her belly! I just am so concerned about the thing green/blackish discharge? This all started at 1:00 centrall time. |
