Thanks! |
Congrats on the new pups! |
You will absolutely have to give her whelping pudding or cottage cheese. Hopefully, you are already giving her extra meals per day of a nice puppy food. My girls generally get a tablespooon of cottage cheeese mixxed in with the morning meal then at least once a day, they get the whelping pudding. My recipe is simple and they love it. One small box of vanille pudding and pie filling. The cooked kind, two cups milk, 1/4 cup sugar and two egg yolks, cooked until thickens, then cool to room temperature. I make this small batch so it won't ruin on me. Congratulations on the nice litter. |
Holy Smokes!!! SEVEN!!! That's quite a Gaggle! Congratulations to mom and mom to be! |
We have 3 females and 4 males, the smallest 3 are weighing in this morning (after a full night of nursing) at 4 ozs, and the largest is weighing in at 6 ozs. Pictures to come.....Mama is REALLY protective of them, and we are trying hard to not bother her, we have to force her outside to go potty and handfeed her as she is nursing and caring for her babies. |

So you woud recommend the cottage cheese over the ice cream? I did question my Vet about extra calcium and he said she would be just fine with her puppy food diet. We are handfeeding her, her puppyfood every hour, and bringing her water into her box. She is eating it by the handfuls! We are also giving her some nutri-cal a few times a day. |

I give my girls who are pregnant yogurt(1 teaspoon) on top of their food everyday. They love it and it is good for them. I continue feeding it while they nurse babies. Congratulations on a fine big litter. Sue |
