hello thats going to be some busy momma! hope and pray that everything goes great for momma and her little pups |
update! we have been waiting for news all day. Hope everything is okay. |
Just got finished, and YES, she had SEVEN babies.....and she did AWSOME! Most births were uneventful, one came out butt first and I needed to assist her, it got stuck and she was pushing, but the sack was fine and the pup while being the biggest was just fine. Mom is currently nursing all 7 babies and not wanting to leave them for a moment. I will update more tomorrow with pictures, right now I need to EAT (I am preggo) and get some rest since I will be up all night checking on them. If anyone has any suggestions on additional supplements for her and her milk, let me know. She did great with her last litter of 6, so I am not sure if she will need anything extra this time. |
congrats on those 7 wonderful additions to your house....hope all continues to go great with them and the mommy.....and you take care of yourself too....""""MOMMY"""""....congrats on your upcoming arrival |
Congratulations on your new litter. I pray momma and babies will do well. |
Do you have any whelping pudding, ice cream or cottage cheese to give her. With 7 to nurse she might need a little bump in her calcium. I always give Pet-Cal calcium tablets - get them at the vets. Also I feed (or offer) my moms a little something every couple hours. Mostly the above things, just to keep up their strength through the night. Put a little Karo syrup in her water to help her to drink enough liquids too. Best wishes and Congratulations. Looking forward to pictures. |
WOW ! congradulations on all of the puppies! Mom going to be pretty busy with 7 newborns :D |
Wowwee! Congrats on seven little yorkie babies and a smooth whelping experiance. That is awesome. Yes, by all means you need to get yourself plenty of rest and nourishment to keep up with caring for mama, her babies, AND yourself! But after that, we look forward to pictures and details!:D |
wow, that's lot of little furbutts! Happy to hear the birth went well and looking forward to pics when YOU have rested! |

Thanks! |
Congrats on the new pups! |
You will absolutely have to give her whelping pudding or cottage cheese. Hopefully, you are already giving her extra meals per day of a nice puppy food. My girls generally get a tablespooon of cottage cheeese mixxed in with the morning meal then at least once a day, they get the whelping pudding. My recipe is simple and they love it. One small box of vanille pudding and pie filling. The cooked kind, two cups milk, 1/4 cup sugar and two egg yolks, cooked until thickens, then cool to room temperature. I make this small batch so it won't ruin on me. Congratulations on the nice litter. |
Holy Smokes!!! SEVEN!!! That's quite a Gaggle! Congratulations to mom and mom to be! |
We have 3 females and 4 males, the smallest 3 are weighing in this morning (after a full night of nursing) at 4 ozs, and the largest is weighing in at 6 ozs. Pictures to come.....Mama is REALLY protective of them, and we are trying hard to not bother her, we have to force her outside to go potty and handfeed her as she is nursing and caring for her babies. |

So you woud recommend the cottage cheese over the ice cream? I did question my Vet about extra calcium and he said she would be just fine with her puppy food diet. We are handfeeding her, her puppyfood every hour, and bringing her water into her box. She is eating it by the handfuls! We are also giving her some nutri-cal a few times a day. |

I give my girls who are pregnant yogurt(1 teaspoon) on top of their food everyday. They love it and it is good for them. I continue feeding it while they nurse babies. Congratulations on a fine big litter. Sue |
