Are there any health conditions that are associated wsith the parti yorkies that are not common with the traditional yorkie

As for the deafness. since there is no greater incidence of deafness in the parti color than there is in the traditional color, I see no reason to address the issue separately.

I did not indicate how many people I spoke to about the deafness. but the answer was 100% there has been no deafness in my line of yorkies.

I'm sorry dfdif you all are dissappointed with the answerd. But NO there has been no deafness associated with parti colored yorkies.

If it ever happens, we will address the issue.

Before te parti yorkie became weel know, did all the show breeders ask the breeders that they purchfased from if there had ever been parti colored puppies born in their line.

I am quessing NO they did not because it was not a known issue.

For those of you who are married with children

Before you choose a mate and had children did you have him tested for genetic defects. Certainly potential children deserve the same caution you would use for potential puppies.

Good point! Should we have to go down the entire list of potential dog ailments and tell people that yorkies are not know to have these or should we just discuss those that they are know to have.

We're not going to go through this entired discussion all over again.

Money had nothing to do with my decision to breed the partid. and no one pitched anything to me, I did the research and contacted my breeder. I had no idea of the cost until I fell out of my chair when she told me what they cost. hat didn't matter to me, I wanted one anyway.

The Biewer breeders cannot even asgree on which breed of animal they have, some say yorkies, some say no not yorkies but do not say what breeds were used to make up the biewer, so you don't even know what you are betting. And they are not AKC registered.

Those were my reasons.

I'm not going to read the whole thread, I'm just stating my opinion in a civil manner and no need to go through the entire discussion.
If you want to breed parti's fine by me I just don't agree with it personally.
Parti's will not be accepted in the show ring (as that is where my passion lies) for some time to come. That is why our standard has changed (although it needs to be clarified the next go around). I hope we keep the Parti's out of the show ring because it deviates from the standard and is not what is called for in the Yorkshire Terrier breed. I love all yorkies whether they are parti's or not but when it comes to the show ring the standard is what I will go by PERIOD! I will always stand behind what the Yorkshire Terrier stands for and while the standard calls for "DARK STEEL BLUE" then I will adhere to the standard as close as I can set forth by the YTCA.
Of course this is all my opinion and please don't hold it against me because I see things from the opposite side of the coin.
I'm really not here to argue but I can state my opinion and how I feel as all that have posted here has :) I've actually done it in a civil manner :)

I understand where you stand and why, I hope you can understand why we coose the parti and not the Biewer.

Also if they change the standard to not DQ the parti then it won't be deviating from the standard.

I'm not a show person, so I really don't care if they let them in the ring. I just love the color and the dogs.

I understand your love for your dogs, but even if the DQ wasn't in place it still deviates from the standard where it calls for a "dark steel blue". No where in the standard does it call for white on the head or chest or any other place actually :) The Yorkshire Standard calls for the "dark steel blue" :)

While I understand your love for the color and the dogs I hope you understand where a show breeder can disagree with you because we do follow the standard ( at least I would hope ) and try to discourage breeding for what is not called for in the standard and breed as close to the best representation to what the breed standard calls for. I truly do understand the love for the yorkie and at times discussions can become heated so I try to handle myself in the most civilized possible way :)

Again, thanks for being civil with me in what I know has been a very heated discussion :) While I disagree with breeding outside the standard I can't change minds when one is set :)

Yes I understad, but stadards have changed over the years, and I'm sure, not without a great deal of poopsition toward those who have pushed for it to change. and it will change again. Nothing ever changes without opposition.

I can see you are a very well settled happy person. People who are intelligent enough to know which things can be changed and which thngs cannot, and don't waste their time trying to change the things that cannot be changed, are happy people.

As for me, I know I will never change these people mind, I just love a good debate with intelligent people who keep me challenged.

I saw this ad for parti puppys today. dont know if its from a breeder here or someone any of you know, cute pups but whew $$$.

If you view posters other ads, They sell alot of different breeds. They do not state that they are AKC or CKC registered. It just says registered.
Be very careful when purchasing a parti.

Yes, you have to know where they came from. If they are not AKC they are not parti, and if they do not lead bfack to the Nikko line, I personaly would not buy them. I know there are other lines, but I don't know what they are.
