| How to find a stud (Texas) I think it's too late to breed my girl this time around (plus, I wasn't too sure if I should- it's her second heat cycle, but she's still under 2 years of age), but I was wanting advice on the best way to locate a stud for my little Maya. She's between 4.5-5 pounds, so I need to find a male yorkie who is at least a pound less than she is, which has been a difficult task for me. I don't see anything in the papers for this sort of thing, and the ones I have found online are usually at least 5 pounds. Where do I go? And if anyone has a good reference for me (I live in the DFW area, TX), I'd appreciate it. She starting her cycle last week (7 days ago, so I doubt I'd be able to find a stud in the next day or so to breed her with, but if I could get a good reference soon enough, maybe I could try). Yes, I am new to this, though I have done a lot of reading. No matter how much I read, it seems I still feel unprepared (probably because I still am). Is there any extra advice one can give me when it comes to finding a stud and breeding her. Is there usually a written agreement made between the two parties? What is the norm? |
