ShaLaChihuahaus she also sells yorkies.. so just wondered... I saw her selling tiny yorkies at a yard sale on saturday.. Was not at her own home so am curious.. NO, I am not planning on getting one from her.. but just wondered.. this is in florida... anne

Yeah that alone would turn me away!

I did not want to say anything at first.. but she had two girls with her..they were in a crate outside.. it was NOT warm and they might have weighed a pounds.. she said mom was 3.5 and dad was 2 pounds and mom throws 4 each litter... I was questioning her and she did not like it.. told her it was too cold, my hubby said do not touch them with no parvo shots and being outside..like I did not know but it was nice he thought the same as me anyway..she said they were 7 or 8 weeks old.. and yes that is her name.. I said you breed a 3.5 pound female, and she says yes I do.. and I said and you sell them here at a yard sale with no shots.. and look how tiny they are.. and she said well there is a heating pad in it.. I bent over and the heat was NOT on the pad.. one was so curled up being cold.. geez I am so glad now I made this thread...

You should add to the ripoff report that someone posted above. On the right hand side of the page, you can click a box that says, something like consumer and then there's a box that says rebuttal. Click the consumer one and write what you've written here to let people know what she's doing. You don't have to use your real name. You can if you want, but don't have to.

People like this need to be exposed.

I've never heard of such a thing! A yard sale!?!?!?! Not only would I have been shocked, and felt bad for such tiny little babies to be treated that way, I would have called the local humane league and reported it. Surely there must be some local authority where you live to have reported it to. Even the local newspaper- they might have done a story about it to warn people about her unethical behavior.

I come down here in the winter so I am not aware of all the humane societies in the area.. I am not even sure how to go that far as I am from canada.. I am posting here as I thought this would help those in florida to know.. should they either know of her, or know of some one looking for a yorkie.. to let them know..I would not have even know what subdivision we were in.. ya know when yard saling we just drive.. and when it is time to come home we just look for the hwy back to zephyrhills where we live..and as from what I have known in most places.. if they have water and food.. nothing would be done anyway.. she was not even in her own home.. so she could have just left where she was and moved on.. if that makes sense to you... anne

As a friend and customer of shala chihuahuas ( I have 3 chihuahuas from shala) I invited her to my garage sale to get to know people in the community. I know owning your own business it can be difficult when relocating I though this would be a perfect way to ley people see her puppies in person. The puppies were in a bed with a blanket and heating pad and were happy and playing or napping throughout the morning.

The person who commented first I was present to meet at the sale and commented on how much larger her dogs were to shalas. Im thinking maybe she might have a little competition now and has nothing else to keep up with the competition so she must write slanderous comments online.

I'm sorry you didn't have a better welcome to our area shala!

As a friend and customer of Shala Chihuahuas ( I have 3 chihuahuas from shala) I invited her to my garage sale to get to know people in the community and for people to have a chance to see her cuties in person. I know having your own business it can be dificult to relocate especially in this economy.

The puppies were in a bed with a blanket and heating pad and were either playing or napping all morning. We live in FL so the weather was not so cold since I didn't even have a coat.

The woman who commented first on this website I was present to meet also. She commented on how much larger her puppies were to shalas (She is a breeder also). Maybe this is why she has to write slanderous comments online, she can't keep up with the competition.

I'm sorry you didn't have a better welcome shala. I am embarrassed that my community cannot be more supportive to other small business owners.

This person had just moved to the area and wasn't moving around as someone said. If she was trying to hide anything than why did she give you her card. If you felt so sorry for the poor pup (which I might say were warm and healthy and fed and watered and happy) than why were you saying how cute they were and how you wish you hadn't just bought one from someone else. Why don't you find a different hobby.

Yes, I do know of her, she is a very reputabl breeder of gorgeus, healthy well socialized pups. I would do business with her any day!!!

Anne, this is a good post. I was appalled when you first posted that someone was selling puppies at a garage sale. What do people usually sell at yard and garage sales? Things they don't care for and no longer want. poor babies. This is as bad as those breeders that sell at flea markets and in the Walmart parking lots. Thank you for exposing this person. And calling it a "business'. When I start calling my breeding a business, I will quit.

There is NO EXCUSES for selling 7-8 weeks old puppies outside in the cold!!!

I feel very bad for her dogs!

I would of course say a baby yorkie was cute.. we all would.. is she ethical, NO!!!!, and I would not buy a yorkie from a person who sells them at a garage sale.. sorry but this is just not what a good breeder would do..for people that have bought in a pet store feels this way is no better...Catch a person seeing a yorkie in a cage with a cute face.. and they act on impulse.
New to the area get your name out there to the vet clinic's.. or do not have babies until you are better established.. sorry that you thought I was wanting to buy one.. I do not recall this part.. although I do believe I said I had just gotten a new boy...:confused: I would buy all the yorkies in this world that were being sold in this fashion or from puppy mill people but it is just not something one person can or could do on their own.. would I have liked to have scooped those babies up and take them home.. of course I would have... any one of us would have... anne

i am a current customer of ms.streky (shalachiuahuas). She went above and beyond with helping and answering any questions or concerns that i've had with my pup. As for the pup she sold me over a year ago, well, he's cuddled up in my lap as content as can be with a clean bill of health! i will definitely be a longtime customer of hers for as long as she continues her business, and i highly reccommend ms.strecky for your future breeder!:thumbup:

This is nice to see this breeders friends all campaigne for her as a breeder.. and I truly hope this thread has made her rethink her breeding program as to how she sells her puppies..that is nice that you all came forward on request from this breeder.. but again this is about selling puppies at a yard sale.. not a personal attack... I am thinking you all should stick around this forum and you all might learn how people have been badly taken with so called breeders selling puppies as a business and not to better themselves as a breeder.. I am sure you will all learn a lot and might help you all understand why we feel as I do..For when you all have one or two posts since joining and your main purpose is to do this for a friend that is all well and good.. but please do read and learn more about breeders and buying a puppy.. In fact maybe a good idea would be for you all to help her sell her babies to other friends and family so she does not have to take them in the cold at a yard sale at anothers persons house.. I am sure she would get lots of exposure in this way with all her friends coming on here posting on her behalf.. it would be a perfect idea for you to tell buddies, family, friends.. and she would have a line up waiting for her puppies..

It's funny how her supporters all come out just today. If you are for real, I would love for you to post pics of your yorkie babies and perhaps an introduction.

I was not commenting on where you live. I was commenting on where Ms. strecky now lives. I don't see what that has to do with where you are from. Maybe you have better ideas on where to advertise, but to say someone is unethical because you don't agree with their advertising is not a fair judgement. I don't understand the need to "Warn others" about another breeder based on seeing her at a garage sale for 5 minutes. I have done business with Ms. strecky for years and have never had a problem. Like the word business or not when you all do your taxes at the end of the year breeders are indeed a small business even if the dogs are part of the family which shalas are. I can call Ms. Strecky day or night with any questions or concerns I have with my dogs so she definitely makes sure the puppies are well taken care of. and obviously you are a drama person if a message warrants you reporting me so I cannot comment on this matter. I did not say anything that was unreasonable.

and all you others commenting on this matter are commenting on something you know nothing about. to feel sorry for puppies because they are outside in a warm bed for a few hours is ridiculous.

I am new to this website yes. but when I heard what people where commenting on Ms. strecky I notified other customers of Ms strecky that I knew and asked them to stand up for a good breeder getting a bad rap. I don't have any yorkies I have chihuahuas from Ms. strecky since Ms. strecky only has 3 female yorkies she does not have many yorkie cutomers to comment on this matter. I attached a pic of 2 of my pups that I bought from Ms. strecky for the person who would like to see them.

Although, if Ms. Strecky is a good breeder, maybe you should be the one to tell her that having small puppies out side in cages....anytime in the cold ....is a bad idea....and not to sale them at yard sales, if she cares where her babies go after they leave her. It takes more then producing beautiful puppies to be a good breeder. If you want to help her out in saving her reputation, inform her that this isnt want good breeders do.
