What do you feed your dog in late pregnancy? I have a dog in late term pregnancy; she's in day 58 and she's having a hard time eating anything. Does anyone have any tricks for me? Also, she was just at the vet and they told me that she's low in calcium. I've been giving her calsorb, but she throws it up. Is there any food supplement I can safely give her? Thank you so much for all your help. I've been observing this site for most of her pregnancy. Thanks for all your professional advice. My breeder has also helped, but my vet and the breeder have conflicting answers:confused:, which makes it hard to choose. Any information you have will be more than welcome. :D. i feed puppy food...hard and soft |
If your gonna feed puppyfood I would suggest one that has a low fat content. I would suggest though to cook chicken breast and mix that in with her regular food add some lowfat cottage cheese. about a tbsp. once a day. I think your vet should've given you some calcium supplement , unless that is where you got the calsorb from. I hope this helps some |
Thank you so much for responding Izzy has a diet that consists of cooked chicken, peas, chicken broth, cottage cheese, cheese, puppy food and wet food. We rotate them and yes, the calsorb is her supplement, but she throws it up everytime we give it to her. :( We also have a vitamin supplement that she's supposed to take but she won't eat it and it's not possible to break it in her food without her discovering it's there. ;) Just today she is getting yogurt (any kind the best to offer her?) She's having a horrible time eating. Any recipes you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Blessings, Pam:D, Izzy :aimeeyork and :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
