| Toy breeds generally take longer to go into heat the first time. Sunshine was 9 months and had her second at 18 months.. Rainbow was a little over 10 months for the first and her second was at 18 months

| Just like humans these little dogs are on their own grow up schedule. My Denali didn't have her first heat until she was 14 months, her mother was 12 months. What's the hurry? This gives her more time to mature and you more time to get ready.

| My first female did not come in heat until she was 23 months old. Everything I have read says not to worry until they are 2. I personally wish they would all wait that long..lol.

| My 3 girls all came into heat around 9mths. I guess it just depends on the girl. I wouldn't worry to much though. Heat time can be a bit of a nuisance.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Halle is going on 9 months and we're still waiting on her first heat. I'm not worried....but I am anxious for the day (2nd heat) when we can see the beautiful pups she & Toby will have. I agree, they are all different (just like humans). Lexie had her first @ 6 months and the second just 4 months later. She seemed to go every 4 months after that. She's a bit of a teapot yorkie @ 12 pounds & we have since had her spayed.

| Matty is a year and hasn't gone into heat yet either. Everything about her is just so tiny and minute - she's going to have to experience some big changes before she goes into heat I would think. I'm in no hurry!!

| Many dogs when they have thheir first heat its known as unseen. (No signs of heat but a male can still pick up the scent and she can become pregnent) Alot of dogs have here first heat witout te owners knowing and on there second heat the owners think its there 1st) Im not sure if its true or not but i read it in several different books.. lol |
