littlebieweryorkies.com and blessedbkennel.com I seem to lack the skill in differentiating between good breeders and bad breeders. Has anyone had some experience with these particular breeders? If not, are there any signs I should be wary of? :confuse2: Little Biewer Yorkies Blessed B Kennel |
Since you live in Florida, I would go visit the Kennels......I don't know these breeders, but the first Kennel, there is no person's name. The second Kennel's contract is not anything to benefit the buyer. |
I agree, if they are local, go visit and get a feel for them. On the first site, there is no name, but there is a phone number, so you can call and get a name if you need one. A couple of things though is that a couple of her females are a little on the small side for breeding, but then again, I don't know that she has bred them yet. Just seems like she wouldn't have put their weight out there if she wasn't breeding them. She also advertises them as "Baby doll faced" which is a no-no, and also, I didn't think any of them fit that description anyways, lol. Aside from that, it looks like a nice site, but that doesn't tell you anything until you talk to her and see for yourself. |
The dogs at Blessed B aren't even good pet specimans, I would NEVER breed them. There are so many excellent breeders in Florida. I would try the YTCA website, show breeders are often no more expensive and they know their lines. You are more likely to get a yorkie that looks like a yorkie is supposed to and a good health warranty as well. I don't want to sound mean but those are some ugly yorkie gals. If I were going to raise money for missionaries I would at least use excellent dogs so that I could produce excellent puppies to put the Lord's name on. |
I know Terry (Little Biewer Yorkies) personally, and she is a wonderful breeder. I have three dogs from her and have been nothing but pleased. :) She is very fair and easy to talk to, and her dogs and puppies are beautiful. She keeps her dogs inside in her house, she doesn't have a kennel. They sleep in the bed with her just like mine do...:D Email me if you want to know more. |

I was wondering if anyone knew anymore about these two kennels. I put a deopsit down on a puppy from Blessed B and now I don't feel right about it. Can someone look over the contract and tell me what my options are about getting out of it? I still want a yorkie but I want a quality yorkie. Thank you so much. |

For one thing, before the contract even, a lot of dogs have ears down, which is a fault in a yorkie, especially when you're breeding to better the breed. A lot of the females have a scared look on their faces, and the contract is crap! I don't see anything on there(which I read it fast) about health gurantee, a lot of breeders these days have a year or some actually have lifetime gurantees). Just a lot of red flags to me. Another thing, they just got the mother in law a yorkie a year ago, and then fell in love with them, which means they acquired all their biewers and yorkies in less than a year and already had pups with them. I would def. stay away from her! |
but the problem is, I put a down payment before doing research *KICKS SELF IN BUTT* can I get out of it? I know I loose my money but I would rather loose 100 than much more than that. The problem is no one wants to let me buy one of their puppies because I have kids. They were raised around small dogs their whole lives and know how to treat them. I would never harm an animal but no one trusts that I guess. I contacted nolensyorkies.com (a YT member) but I might have scared here away too by having the kids. :eek: |

Well there isn't much that can not be treated...two serious genetic health issues that come to mind - heart conditions and liver shunt. |

I just thought of something...this breeder lives in Florida which has strict puppy lemon laws...regardless of what her contract says regarding health. Were a pet owner discover their dog was seriously ill...the buyer can recover the cost of the puppy and ALL vet expenses. |

Then her genetic time bombs starting going off and she was diagnosed with one inherited condition after another (epilepsy, diabetes, hypothyroidism just to name a few). Add another $1,500 to that for vet bills. :eek: Even you you have to walk away from a deposit, it will still be cheaper in the long run than buying a poorly bred puppy. |
Im not concerned about loosing my deposit but I am concerned that I breech the contract somehow and she takes me to court. I have found a good breeder from this site and I hope I will be able to get one of her pups. Does anyone think I face legal trouble? |

The most the breeder is entitled to is to keep the deposit for "damages" although that is arguable as I am certain she will sell the puppy to someone else. |

She is more apt to sue you if you put a stop payment on the check, if you don't want one of the pups, I would just tell her you've just changed your mind. If she's a good breeder, she will understand, as people do change their minds. Ask her if there will be a problem with it. How long has she had your deposit? If she's just recently gotten it, she may give it back or she may not. |
I just gave it to her Saturday. I wouldn't stop payment on a check lol I was just kidding about that. My husband is talking with her today. I will let everyone know how it goes. |

Just an update on my previous post....everything went well. They are not upset. Of course they are refusing my deposit which I expected because they made sure to tell me it was non refundable when I put it down. However, I believe everything happend for a reason because now I am getting a beautiful baby girl from Nolens Yorkies!! I am so excited! Thanks everyone! |

I don't have biewers either, but it is my understanding that yorkies can carry a recessive 'parti' gene, and when bred to a biewer or another parti carrier, they can produce color. |

I know of this breeder littlebieweryorkies.com if you are talking about her. she does not have any yorkie moms, just biewers. Some are darker than others and have more black than white. Is that what you are referring to? |
