Denise, There are quite a few quality show breeders in N.C. Lwolfe (Laurie) is from N.C. and might be able to point you in the right direction if you pm her. UKC has a big show in Hickory and of course AKC has a big show in Raleigh each year in March. You could always venture north if you want to see some fantastic dogs. Here in Va. we have Caraneal, Thimbletip, Stratford competes her alot, as does Wolpert, Tiffanys, and others.
A black and tan bitch will not help you get a nicely colored dog out of the light male you are looking at. Remember that two wrongs do not make a right. Never breed the same faults but do not breed the opposite fault either. Find a dog that is the correct color that you want for your line and breed him to a female close to the same color and texture.

You could always ask Kirsten Mcgregor who is a handler..most dogs she shows she can breed...and she shows a LOT in your area.

I would like to thank you so very much for the help and didn't know that about the colors, That is what she told me to do, so Thank you for that as well, I have so much to learn I just need to find some one wiling to teach me, I will pm this lady, I really need a mentor, I would still love to come to a show in va, in the fall that woukld be nice! take to you soon, blessings Denise:)

The calibur of Yorkie Kristen handles is not at stud to non-show breeders...do not be insulted, that is common practice.

Many of the dogs she has shown in the past few years have been available for stud..some friends of mine have bred to them. She has done many breedings to several bitches in one weekend.

I was thinking of Chandler....sorry, I am sure she shows many nice Yorkies...most will not let a Specials do this..it is nice to know some will..thanks for correcting me.

Kirston and I were discussing good rears (in relation to finding Denali a good mate) and she commented that she had 3 males with her that had good rears. I did not take that as an offer to use one of them for stud service. If she was handling one of my males I would want to be notified before she allowed anyone to use them for stud. I would guess that people like Ava and Lisa Farmer are probably rather selective as to whose pedigree they will put their top boys on.

You better believe this! The stud owner/s will look at the pedigree and the person that bred the dog and also the dog to be bred before considering. Yes, only the owner will give permission. Most likely Kirsten was just saying they had good rears and had 3 with them. She would always make you contact the owner/s and the owner do the breedings, not Kirsten. There will always be a tight contract to breed to such studs, which is underdstandable. :thumbup:

I forgot to mention, think it is obvious, they (stud owner) also have to consider who is the owner of the bitch. This is all very important.

I will start by attending some shows first. But guys while I do feel I can trust you here, I am somewhat afriad of getting ripped off again I had rather attend a show where one of you at least will be. I am not to far from va I can drive that, or if someone will be going to a show in n.c their are a few here, Please let me know, I want to be take it careful this time take it slow, and learn all i can about what I am truly looking at. So if anyone you guys trust or know are going to be at any shows va or nc area please let me know. I don't even think at this piont with what you guys are telling me that I have a fm good enough right now. So w/b ok or pm me I really am greatful for all the advice. Thank you Denise
